From reading through the stories of the fans that went, the Cure Bowl puts the New Orleans Bowl to shame. Well organized, there was a good amount of participation by the city itself, and then there is the matter of all the parks.

Biggest downside I have read is that unlike Mobile and New Orleans, everything is spread out there. It's not like your fans can take over an entire part of the town like we did in Mobile for 4 years or like UL does in Nola. It's sort of a trade off for having more to do.

The biggest upside I saw personally was the production qualify of the game. Since this is CBSSN's only game, they go all out. There was a full 30 minute pregame show dedicated specifically to the game. The broadcasters were knowledgeable about the teams and their history, and they even had the sky cam and down marker cams that the major games have. The best part is, there was no discussion whatsoever, save for a 30 second segment about the College Football Playoff. The University of Alabama was mentioned once in the entire broadcast. The production quality puts ESPN's work on our other bowls to shame

It's another trade off though, because it's not a widely distributed broadcast. Far more people watched App and Toledo than watched our game, but we also didn't have to listen to 10 minutes of promotion about the playoff either.

Thanks for the response, and interesting that fans thought this was a better run game than New Orleans.

New Orleans doesn't really have events outside of a concert. It's more "Hey, go party on the French Quarter"

If the French Quarter is your thing, you'll love New Orleans. Otherwise, you'll be pretty bored.

Mobile has the best bowl event with the parade and fireworks. Plus, the city goes all out for the bowl.

The Cure has great charity events for the players and I think the players enjoyed it better than all of the bowls (they get to go to Disney and Universal) . The battle of the bands was fun at citywalk and the pregame concert and tailgating was good as well. The game management/Stadium was the best by far of mobile/nola/cure. It felt like a "big time" bowl game compared to the others. The great weather didn't hurt at all. I would definitely return. I only wish more of our fans could have experienced it.

It sounds like the Camellia tried to emulate some of the events in Mobile with the parade and such. I like being in smaller towns that embrace the bowls more. Of course Orlando will never be a bad trip. I do wish Mobile cou, d grt a better date in the future as it sounds like a bowl I'd like to attend if we ever get selected.
