NoLa Bowl
USM is going to out number the Cajun fans 2:1. Ticket sales are horrible. Hudspeth has lost the fan base.

Well, on the plus side... No longer will we hear Tom wail and moan about how it's unfair that the NOLA bowl only selects the Cajuns.

So there's that...

It has way more to do with the oilfield than HUD losing the fan base

You and I have different opinions of why Hudspeth pissed in his ow. Cheerios with the Trump comments. Major donors want him gone.

We have 20k major donors? What are we talking 6 people? If the oilfield was good we would sell plenty, it's New Orleans, they aren't going for HUD. Taking comments out of context make you look ignorant. That whole deal was blown out of proportion. Oh and 1 of those huge donors has since backed off and said he was being too critical. HUD shouldn't have said what he said, doesn't make what he said wrong. That huge donor will in Fact be at the bowl game with about 50 in his group.

Of course the Mosings, Schillings and Monclas will be at the game. They support the university. It doesn't mean they support Hudspeth. We will not sell 1/2 of our allotment for the game and will be outnumbered 2:1 or 3:1 by USM fans.

USM has contacted us about our unsold allotment of tickets for their fans.

Never disagreed with you but the lack of 20k people is the economy, not HUD's comments. I promise 90% of those people don't even know he made comments

The video and His comments made CNN, Fox News and other. On athletic news outlets. It is not the only reason we are not gonna have 20k there. But Hudspeth mediocre performances and comments hurt more than you are willing to admit.

Maybe it's because I don't live in a bubble, every person I've talked to that isn't going it's because of money or job uncertainty and can't justify spending the money with christmass coming. Not 1 single person mentioned HUD or his comments, sorry if that doesn't fit your narrative. Anyone who would not go party in Nola and have a blast at a bowl game because of his comments are small minded bitter miserable idiots and probably would tell everyone to sit down. The oilfield has been in the shitter for 2 years, dropping a grand on a bowl game a week before Christmas when you are either unemployed, took a pay cut or could be unemployed anyday just isn't smart.

You either work for the oilfield or whatever job you have served people in the oilfield. Oil has been in the crappwr for 2 years..oil went from $100 a barrel down tom$26...lots of lost jobs, cuts in pay, furlough etc. we have been in an oil crash for 2 years. I guess it would be like coal or logging just instantly going to **** in your area(not sure if that even applies) Or in Detroit if suddenly nobody needed cars.

Is anyone surprised? Until 10 days ago I thought they had put all the ULL football fans in a witness protection program since November 2014.

Worse...a regionally centralized economic depression.

Pretty much, I personally went 13 months out of work. Had to sell my house, wife laid off and took a $70,000 pay cut once I did get back to work. There were roughly 30,000 jobs lost from the oil downturn.

It's a shame the cost of living doesn't reflect the market.

Hearing Troy's numbers are not that great either. The date of the bowl seems to be our "excuse".
