A quick look around the CAA:
UNCW has climbed to #10 in the RPI rankings according to the latest report released by rpiratings.com. The Seahawks extended their winning streak to five with an 81-80 victory at St. Bonaventure last Saturday and are 5-1 this season away from home. It is their best start since 1992-93 .
College of Charleston, which is 7-3 and on a four-game winning streak, is #51 in the RPI, its best start since 2011-12.
Towson (6-4) has captured three of its last four after victories over Loyola and FDU last week.
Seven of the league’s 10 teams have .500 or better overall records. The CAA is ranked 12th out of the nation’s 32 Division I conferences.
Hofstra junior Rokas Gustys leads the nation with 13.0 rebounds per game as of Dec. 12. He grabbed 25 rebounds in the Pride’s 65-57 win over South Dakota, which is the most by any NCAA Div. I player this season, and had 23 rebounds in Hofstra’s season-opening victory over Coppin State. He’s had 10 or more rebounds in seven contests so far.
Nine of the CAA’s 10 teams are out-rebounding their opponents so far this season. Delaware, which ranks 14th nationally, leads the league with a +9.1 rebound margin, while Towson, which is 16th in Division I, has a +8.9 margin.
W&M Notes:
• Omar Prewitt has posted back-to-back double-doubles. He’s scored 20+ points in 3 straight games and is leading the Tribe and is among the CAA’s top 10 in scoring (16.3 ppg) and rebounding (6.4 rpg).
• Jack Whitman has scored double digits in 4 of his last 5 games. He’s averaging 11.0 ppg and 6.4 rpg for the season while shooting 62.2% from the floor.
• Greg Malinowski contributed a season-high 14 points in each of his past two games. He was 7-of-11 from 3-point range in that stretch.
• Freshman Nathan Knight is averaging 7.9 ppg and 4.4 rpg in just 17 minutes per game.
• 10 Tribe players are averaging over 10 minutes playing time per game, so far this season. Eight of those players average over 15 minutes per game. Senior Omar Prewitt is the only player averaging over 30 minutes per game.
• The Tribe is currently 4th in the CAA in scoring at 77.0 per game (UNCW at 87.8) and 6th in preventing scoring allowing 74.6 ppg (Charleston allows 61.0).
• Tribe shooting percentages are down a bit from years past, shooting 44% from the floor and 34% from three point range.

Denzel Ingram • UNCW
Sr., G, 6-0, 175 - Chapel Hill, N.C.
Ingram scored a team-high 19 points, including the game-winning jumper with 1.9 seconds left, as UNCW earned an 81-80 victory at St. Bonaventure last Saturday.
Rodney Williams • Drexel
Sr., F, 6-7, 225 - Richmond, Va.
Williams poured in a career-high 29 points and pulled down a team-best 10 rebounds in Drexel’s narrow 72-71 loss to Saint Joseph’s on Sunday.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Ryan Daly • Delaware
Fr., G, 6-4, 185 - Ardmore, Pa.
Daly came off the bench to score a career-high 20 points and grab a career-best nine rebounds in Delaware’s 81-63 setback at Yale on Sunday afternoon.
