Triple Option returning to Statesboro?
http://footballscoop.com/the-scoop/

Georgia Southern: Sources tell FootballScoop Tyson Summers has now offered his offensive coordinator position to Georgia Tech quaterbacks / B-backs coach Bryan Cook. Summers is clearly looking to bring the triple back to Statesboro. We expect a decision on this later today.

Considering that this is a rebuilding year (which was happening regardless who was coaching this year), this could be an interesting twist.

He better get a better QB to run the option than the frosh kid that played some this year. The 2 graduating senior QB's will be missed if the triple option returns.

Cook is an excellent coach. Would be a coup for GaSo.

Could be great for Werts' (frosh QB) development!

i hope that if he accepts, we don't solely run option out of the flex. I'd like to see us go back to what we ran under Fritz.

Has experience running it out of the shot-gun.

As long as they bring an option offense philosophy and not something that only appears to be the option, I could give a rip what formation it is out of.

RE: Triple Option returning to Statesboro?
I dont care at this point if it is the triple / flex or spread just hire a guy that can actually run one or the other. That crap this year was unidentifiable. Gun / spread / bubble / screen/ option horse**** was a joke.

We need a clear direction the offense other than straight pro did not matter.

RE: Triple Option returning to Statesboro?
More option may be coming but its only because we are holding our coach accountable to his promise that we would continue to be a run option based team with more passing. If in fact we hire a TO coach it will still look like the Gun Option, and where someone said something to our freshman Q playing, and that he couldnt run it, he can run the Gun Option. He wouldnt be good in the Flex TO, but he could run the GTO like last years offense.

Cook has accepted after we upped the pay a bit. Finally Summers does something right

Two year deal as well.

Just holding my breathe until the UNH game. Probably will not get much out of the AU game with a newish offense for the first game of the year against a P5 with top talent.

We basically got a offensive HC. His resume is more impressive than the actual HC's.

Sounds good to me, one less team to recruit WRs and QB that can throw a forward pass against.

This hire will be widely supported by Eagle fans. Summers should get out of way and let him handle the offense. Summers has plenty to work on with his defense

TBD, CTS has been vocal about passing when he was hired. I dont think CTS or the AD are big flex fans. We will see. I really dont want the GT version and more of the Charleston Southern offense.
