RE: Trump on Boeing's Air Force One contract: 'Cancel order!'
Trump is an outright crook.

He uses his Twitter account to tank stocks -- no doubt his traders had shorted the stock.

And then has the gall to make secret service pay his own airline to ride on his "superior" plane. What a damn shyster. Impeach this crook, before he does something we can't take back!!!

Developing a highly classified aircraft increases costs by maybe a factor of ten.

Figure 400 million for two planes and the rest is security overhead.

Hey, I was just thinking. You know who will never ride on a new Air Force One?

Hilary Clinton.

You had to say that. Now every Libturd will be crying. Still.

That's like when Oblunder came out on a tv program with a cell phone and he said, "at least I've been president" or words to that effect. Before the election Oblunder was right but proven wrong later. Ohh, I'll bet that hurt his Hiney-ness. To have to admit that Donald Trump who's made more of his life than he has to be president. And don't say he hasn't, he's a billionaire where all the money Oblunder has was given to him by USes.

Well you need a SCIF, which they already have and the labor will be about 15% higher, but not sure it quadruples the cost... the technology the secure it already exists.

The only people going nuts are the ones who think it's unethical for a POTUS-E to use his twitter account to illegally manipulate the stocks of American companies.

Then again, maybe his agenda has been to get the Russians to build him a new airplane?

Because only the president ever rides on it, right?

No, perhaps Trump in all his magnanimousness will give Killary a ride on it to Leavenworth. Hey, who wouldn't want that? Her last dying wish as "the almost president". LOL

At least she came out as the "second winner". Ha, ha, ha.

Yes. This is almost certainly what it is :eyeroll:

In general, yes. The President and his staff, plus some media, and selected others. It's not a plane for commoners like Hilary Clinton.

Are you unfamiliar with this basic reality?

It was a Boeing deal disguised as a Nuke deal.

RE: Trump on Boeing's Air Force One contract: 'Cancel order!'
I would expect the cost of AF-1 to be more than a normal run of the mill 747-8, but given the 747-8 is somewhere in the $360 million range.......I'm having a bit of trouble with how 2 of them would get to $4 billion. I mean, it's generally going to be a 747-8 with some modifications, but it's not like they are starting with a blank sheet of paper and creating a plane from nothing...

Are the heads equipped with toilets of gold????

I would think AF1 would have several one-of-a-kind devices. When you are talking AF1 you are talking about inspecting every cushion, every wire, every circuit, and every nook and cranny through the entire process. Every worker has to have a clearance. Every part vetted and every vendor cleared. That's a lot of expenses that don't produce anything.

If I was taking that risk the price would be more than quadrupled. A compromised product would be undeliverable.
