High Point
Dragons head to NC to take on High Point tonight in the back end of a home and home series with the school. High Point ruined Drexel's home opener last year by beating them 75-66. Last year's High Point team finished 1st in the Big South but were upset in the BS Tournament by UNC Ashville in the Semi-Finals and wound up in the NIT where they lost at South Carolina.

High Point is 4-3 this year (3-3 vs. Div I). They hosted a 3 game tournament where they beat UNC Greesnsville and Navy but got destroyed at home by North Dakota State, 70-44.

Ironically, both teams are coming off very impressive come from behind road wins. We know about Drexel's 16 point comeback at Lafayette. On Monday night, High Point trailed Morgan State on the road by 20 midway through the 2nd half and stormed back with a 31-10 run and won 62-61 on an Anthony Lindauer 3 pointer at the buzzer.

RE: High Point
Big time win on the road in a boisterous gym that makes the DAC look like Madison Square Garden.

I only tuned into watch the final 7 minutes, but that was a fun 7 minutes to watch. Dragons made some big time shots when they needed them and also made some big time plays on defense. Even late, when Rodney fouled out with 5 minutes left and Tyshawn fouled out soon after, they still managed to play some big time defense. Seems like we have some depth with big men this year as Rodney, Austin, Tyshawn, Bah, and Peck all seem to be able to contribute.

Iceman was rock solid tonight with 7 3-pointers. And combine him with Kurk Lee, we've got 2 freshman guards playing really well, and hopefully both will stay healthy and stick around for 4 years and we can have fun watching them develop.

And Overton continues to struggle, but he still made 4 really clutch foul shots in the final minutes, and is showing to the best FT shooter on the team.

Dragons have already surpassed their mid-February win total from last year and are already 2/3rds of the way to matching 2015-16.

RE: High Point
Any road win is a solid win. We have got to cut down on our turnovers. 21 TO's makes it tough to win ball games. It puts too much pressure on your defense if you can't take care of the ball. FT's for us definitely sealed this one even though we took nearly half a many.

RE: High Point
After watching this game - a few thoughts

The Good
- Iceman 3's were huge throughout the game
- Austin was strong on the boards again
- Myles had some huge minutes after Rodney fouled out
- Found a way to win a close game - rare during the Bruiser years - Overton's FT's .... money
The Bad
- 21 freaking turnovers - sloppy at ball handling and horrible passes - a game like this would be a loss in CAA play
- fouling fest - especially down the stretch - almost gave it away after building a nice lead late

Happy to see the win. Now get a week of rest for St Joes - hope we come home take em down.

RE: High Point
Overton looked better the past two games on the road. Hopefully he is breaking out of his funk. Iceman and Lee are a nice duo and I am excited to see how our transfers will do with them next year. I watched the whole game a lot of the turnovers were due to a full court press in the first half. The second half they calmed down a bit on turnovers.
