Some good press in the Richmond TD this morning about our ladies hoops squad as team plays in Kaplan tonight against East Carolina hoping to stretch winning streak to ten in a row!

Saw a blip on Facebook regarding Drexel's home victory over Th'Cuse. Congrats to them, by all means. But, once again another CAA school gets a "big name" opponent to come to their areana. Why is it The College of William and Mary either cannot or does not try to attract a high profile opponent for basketball programs ?

Congrats on the big win tonight. And even though the schedule was a bit weak, 10-1 is still 10-1. That's a big deal for a program that has struggled for so many years. The CAA has pretty much locked themselves into the 8 spot in the RPI, and hopefully the selection committee with take the CAA serious in March and select at least 1 at large team from the the CAA for the NCAA Tournament.

Hopefully they stay grounded and focused heading into CAA play at Delaware on Monday.

Everyone needs to mark their calendars for Sunday, Jan 29th at 2 pm, to come out and support these gals at the Kap against JMU.

Philly alum need go out and support the gals at Drexel on Fri, Feb 10th, at 7 pm.

RE: Women's BB
My wife and I went to our second Tribe women's game of the season last and, wow, what a performance by our young ladies.

ECU was 9-2 and had some serious players, yet we overwhelmed them in the fourth quarter: terrific passing, aggressive defense and solid shooting.

Rendle was marvelous with her triple double (which included TEN blocked shots!), but so was Marlena Tremba who wowed everyone with a 24-point second half.

The team plays relentless tight defense that results in steals or poor shots by our opponents. The team is exciting to watch and seems in great shape for the CAA season.

Abby and Marlena were both good last season before some injuries. But, it certainly appears that they and all of the Tribe have taken another step forward. Very happy for all of them and hope they can keep the momentum going. I never thought I would see a day when a Tribe squad would have ten wins before January.

Will try and bring my girls to see a game one winter weekend and we will continue to follow them.

We played a pretty weak OOC schedule, so I don't see that happening. Is there a women's mid major top 25? I'd think we'd crack that

Thanks for posting! With 5 CAA teams receiving votes, it would appear that having a 5-3 slate vs. the other 4 teams receiving votes and a minimum of slips against the other league teams could produce a top 25 ranking.
