RE: Recruiting 2017-18
Apologies. I didn't intend the comment on any curriculum to sound degrading. "Soft major" was a poor choice of words. My intent was to say that, although I've never met Major Canady personally, I get the impression that he will be using his college studies in the business world rather than going on to be a coach, pro player or another career in sports.

The son of former Temple and NBA player Tim Perry completes the 17-18 recruiting class assuming no one leaves early. Perry and Doles together with the two transfer guards seem like a solid group of newcomers for next year.

Here's ESPN blurb on Perry, Jr.

Sounds like a lottery ticket, think we're due for a hit.

A little concerned about the Perry signing. I never heard much about him in High School or while he was in Prep School. Does anyone know his numbers?

Here is a link based on his high school career http://www.cityofbasketballlove.com/timmy-perry

High school numbers are usually hard to come by. MaxPreps has numbers based on only 11 of his games this year. 10.3 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 1.8 bpg. I suspect he'll be somewhat of a project but I guess we'll see.

I've been saying this for years, but Drexel is never going to get a seasoned dominant big man. The power conferences eat them up. Seems like just about every big guy we've ever gotten was some sort of a project.

Guess what? We can't get one at Temple either. Part of that is Dunphy sucking at his job, but it's very difficult to get a big man who isn't raw if you aren't a top program.

It looks as though Greg played for the same AAU organization as Sammy. What other offers does he have? It seems we will have a great shot to land him given the connection with Sammy.

RE: Recruiting 2017-18
Here is the Verbal Commits page for Kuakumensah.

http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/greg-kuakumensah

As for the two transfers: I was at a practice prior to the end of the season and Harper was working out with the team. We had some concerns about Isabell but every indication that we got was that he is part of the plan for next season.

Sam Green is Lee's roommate. He started seeing some playing time towards the end of the season out of necessity. When he and Lee were on the floor together they appeared to be enjoying themselves. Personally, I dont see him going anywhere. If I was going to bank on someone transfering, I would go with Peck. I dont know if he's cut out for Spiker's system.

Lastly, let's not overlook two Juniors. Based on Spiker's comments and Verlin's article, it appears that Major's knee is a ticking time bomb. If Major decided not to come back next year in his own best interest, I would give the kid a standing ovation as he walked out the door.

And then there is Tyshawn Myles. He fell out of favor seemingly after his "T" in the Towson game and he did not travel with the team to Charleston. I have not heard anything from anyone, but that is concerning for his future with the team. If there was an open scholarship I would put it own Myles, Major or both.

Major Canady was honored on Senior Day. That gives us the indication that he won't be back. OTOH, Damion Lee was NOT honored on Senior Day, even though he was a graduating senior, because it was assumed that he was coming back for his graduate year.

Spiker didnt completely rule it out either. Also, this is Spiker and not Bruiser. I am going to venture a guess that Bru was not as in touch with his players as he thought based on his reported reaction to Lee's departure. I dont think that Major is coming back, but I think that if he wanted to the team would have him.

There it goes! I think we all guessed it. It makes sense as we are bringing in two PF's and coach looks like he may go 4 guards. Anymore to go?

RE: Recruiting 2017-18
With Peck leaving it looks like Perry or Doles will have to start as a freshmen for us next season. Myles was in the doghouse at the end of the year, Hopefully he doesn't transfer. We could be depending on freshmen forwards next year.

RE: Recruiting 2017-18
I think due to playing time potential It would make sense for Myles to stay. If he is still in the dog house after this year and doesn't get minutes then I do see him leaving. If he leaves he would have to sit out a year and he can add some stats to his resume.
