Let's remember, he-who-shall-not-be-named is playing on a talent depleted team. He is good, but he is getting far more looks than he would ever get on a very guard-deep tribe squad. Besides, Milon may make you question whether there is enough space for him here. We shall see.

RE: Bridgewater
Looking very good. Only thing that is frustrating is we continue to give up a lot of offensive rebounds. With about 12 left in the game, they have 7 offensive rebounds to our 16 defensive (we do have 10 off rebounds of our own)

Freshman are looking good and we are shooting well overall

Me thinks Whitman and Malinowski may be coming off the bench come conference games.

Andrew and Kris were right. That was an unnecessary call, 50 point game or not. An experienced Ref just gets the two together and talks to them and calms any hard feelings. A T was just not called for.

I think that would be our best line up.

I don't know where minutes will come from, but it looks as though Rowley might contribute this season. Like was mentioned earlier, his strength may be changing the team dynamics spelling the inside players

Pierce's final stat line is darn impressive with all the points, rebounds and steals.

5 in double figures. Most play 16-20 minutes. Good tune-up/live scrimmage.

Need Knight and Pierce to play unintimidated Monday night, and the defense and rebounding has got to go to a very different level.

Nice to see the obvious chemistry and enjoyment these guys have for each other top to bottom.

RE: Bridgewater
17 pts and 6 rebs puts Pierce at the top of the Tribe stat line. Yes, it was against Boston College Lite but he looked poised and showed great knowledge of what we do. I like him.

Knight looked good and better than I expected...his footwork needs some help.

One Tribe. One Family.

RE: Bridgewater
My favorite thing abt today is that our guys were diving on the floor for loose balls and fightin for them up 50 in the 2nd half. Looks like the guys really like each other and playing together, and they play hard. It's a fun team to root hard for and i think it's going to be an awesome ride this year.

RE: Bridgewater
Just got home from game" a few comments keeping in mind we played Bridgewater, not UNCW:

*Pierce and Knight, as others have mentioned, are some two freshman players.

*Pierce looked like he'd been playing here three years...polished, situation aware, great hands to go with length and long arms. Forget the 17 points and 6 rebounds--he had five steals and was all over the place. He's smooth, quick, fast. A Tarpey who can shoot?

*Knight is a coaches dream. Played terrific on the perimeter passing and handling the ball..showed a couple of nice pivot moves and a smooth outside shot. Will be a terror inside.
All that everyone has been saying about him and perhaps more.

Dixon and Prewitt looked in mid=season form, as did Cohn.

*Rowley started over Malinowski and showed why...confident shooting, pretty good defense,
aggressiveness. 6'8" and long arms defending out on the perimeter. Malinowski looked like he's still not in top shape.

*Burchfield aggressive and, of course, his three-point shooting (two of three).

*Whitman played aggressively and rebounded well. Looks stronger and more muscular than last year. He and Knight are going to split the pivot for a while.

*Team is deep and athletic all the way down to Tott and Schlotman.

I can't believe Knight and Pierce...Tony must be pinching himself to make sure they're real!

Malinowski working his way back from injury, so I wouldn't look too much into Rowley starting this game. I suspect Rowley will contribute this year, just think his starting today has more with Malinowski working back into shape.

RE: Bridgewater
Let's not go nuts about how Knight played today. BCs tallest kid was 6'6" and he didn't start. We'll see what he does on Monday. You can tell he's not used to playing high post with a pick and roll. Anything positive against Louisville and I'm a believer. Whitman did okay for his opposition. Still no power post moves. I still think Seacat may surprise folks. Center is our weakest position.

Malinowski was injured for much of the preseason so I don't read anything into not starting, and he will be one of our best players. Remember that Prewitt, Dixon, Malinowski, Rowley, and Pierce can all rotate. Great to see that group play well today.

I see us playing everyone except for Mostafa, Glover, Schlotman, and Tot on a regular basis. I think we may see some really interesting people bringing the ball up the court when Cohn rests.

Lastly, we didn't see any full court pressure. I don't think you do that to a D3 school just so you won't humiliate them. Hopefully we see it against Presbyterian.

RE: Bridgewater
It will be a long time before we know anything about this team.

1) Our first 4 games are way above or way below our punching weight and that limits how much we can glean from them.
2) More importantly, when you are expecting 2 freshmen to be key contributors (as I believe we are), it's not how they play in November that matters; it's how they play in March. They will be vastly different players in 4 months.
3) Nevertheless, the idea of having Knight, Pierce and Milon as juniors in a couple of years will certainly sweeten the Kool-Aid.
4) I too am confused about Tot's playing time. Streaming the game, about the time I decided he was hurt they put him in. I think Cohn played the first 12 minutes at point and Schlottman the next eight. Either Cohn or Sclottman was in the game at all times and I'm not sure they were ever in at the same time.
5) Malinowski is clearly not all the way back yet. I still assume he is a starter when healthy and Pierce will be first off the bench to sub for Prewitt or Malinowski.
6) Knight was the first post sub at about the 4 minute mark, as either Whitman or Seacat were for Sheldon last year. He only played 17 minutes (nobody played much more than that), which concerns me a bit because I am not sure he has the stamina yet to play much more than that.
