App has got to be the Michigan win.
ULM Has beat Alabama.
Troy beat Mizzou when they were in the top 10.
GaSo has beat Florida.

Forgive me, but I am going completely off memory, but what about

TXSt
ULL
Coastal-Do y'all have an FBS win yet???
stAte
Idaho
NMSU
GaSt

What do you consider as the signature wins???

I don't think I am familiar with App playing Michigan in football. Is there anywhere on the internets where I can find out about this?

Very well played sir.

Thank you much. That's the thing about UTA, when we bring a program back, we have tons of history and rivalry to back us up. Not many start-ups have the following: bowl wins (3), players in the NFL (40+), All-Amercans (41), conference championships (3) or conference rivalries (25-24-1 against current SBC members, not including New Mexico St).

We have a nice FCS Stadium that is not hard to bring to FBS standards, money willing of course.

ULM has beaten:

Alabama (Saban's first year)
#8 Arkansas
Mississippi St.
Kentucky
Wake Forest (twice)

I guess Kentucky was the only one that wasn't mentioned. Was thinking there was more.

2007 - Alabama
2012 - #8 Arkansas
2013 & 2014 - Wake Forest

1995 NLU over Mississippi State

I was only counting those wins since we've been in the Sun Belt. I can go back further than that:

1973 - #20 Richmond (when they were D-1)
1973 - Mississippi State (21-21 tie)
1994 - Kentucky

Beating a conference mate should not count as a signature win, so for now, Georgia State does not have one.

Wins over the next 3 weeks will each be the biggest in program history!

Bigger than anything in 2010 (6-2), 2009 (8-0), 2008 (6-1), 2007 (6-1) or 2006 (6-1) that led to the same conference championship you are on pace for now?

Bigger than bowl wins in 2010 (New Orleans) or 2006 (New Orleans)?

You guys are on a great run this year, but keep things in perspective a little but, huh.

App beat a ranked (in the 20's if I recall) South Carolina team in either 74 or 75 (App not in 1-aa at the time so not FCS over FBS)
App has beaten Wake Forrest numerous times while FCS/1-aa
Obviously the Ann Arbor game.
Camellia Bowl game over Ohio as it was first Bowl Victory.
3 FCS Championship games 05-07 are historically important but not "signature" wins.

I disagree. One of the first things announcers say about App State when introducing us to a national audience is to say we won three straight national championships at the 1-AA/FCS level. Those wins are still on the "Welcome to Boone" signs at the edge of the city limits. They're on the main Appalachian State University sign on Hardin Street (Hwy. 321 next to campus) by Durham Park. Those wins are about as signature as it gets. Those championships, especially since there were three of them and not just one, separated us from the rest of FCS. They helped us to go from about 10,000 a game to the high 20K's and sometimes low 30K's in attendance (along with the UM game, of course). They laid a Rock solid foundation which made us ready for a highly successful transition to FBS, one which has gone better in these first three years than any other move-up has in their first three years besides Marshall and maybe Boise State. (Hopefully the trend will continue for us.)

I agree about the Camellia Bowl, Ann Arbor game, and Wake and SC games. But even though they weren't FBS games, I think those national championships have carried as much weight towards our current program as anything the program has ever done.

That App 2015 must be top three based upon number of posts.

In the Sun Belt era, it probably was...

Okay, I suppose the 3 FCS championships don't fit the OP's definition (top 25 and/or wins over P5's), but in terms of defining the program/raising the program to another level, only the Michigan game and maybe the Camellia Bowl compares to those national championships.

I think for App fans the FCS NC's were certainly important and helped App get where they are today, but on a national scale are not as important as the Big House and possibly even the Bowl win. The USC win was certainly a big one for me when I was at App and got App a small amount of national exposure. We are fortunate to have the history and tradition that we have and that has certainly helped our FBS transition.04-cheers
