We don't know yet. Mark Felt leaked and in hindsight it is seen as a service to the Republic.

The current FBI leakers may be doing a service to the Republic...or a disservice. I hope we get to know which for real at some point.

Simple as this: any FBI analysis should just shut up, do the job assigned to him/her, and not leak anything, ever. Let the results of the investigation speak for themselves.

And to be hired by the FBI, you should have to undergo a strenuous vetting to ensure only minimal partisan loyalties, else you're disqualified.

Same goes for the DOJ?

FBI wouldnt have to leak if the DOJ would stop stonewalling.

Just stop. You know if the shoe was on the other foot and a leak of this magnitude happened you would be feeling exactly the same way. This was a criminal act.
