The Mustangs have some tough games this year to start off with. Baylor an improving Big 12 team the TCU and Texas A$M.

SMU is getting better and Phil Bennett still has a young team. Last year we had one Sr. and One Jr. on the two deep O & D line chart.

I like the new C-USA and having close teams come to Dallas and see our GREAT stadium. It is fantastic.

Now that college basketball is over, is it Football season yet?

I'm hoping for a 5-6 record this year. I'll be estatic with anything over 4 wins for the upcoming season.

Go Ponies!!

I'd take fewer if one of them was Baylor, TCU or A&M.

SMU has almost as many SWC games as CUSA games. As much as one would love to see the old SWC, the CUSA games are where the Ponies will prove themselves. CUSA gives the Ponies a chance to play in a championship game, which will give some good exposure. This may not be the year the Ponies make to that game. It is a worthy and tangible goal. In the old SWC days, the Cotton Bowl was the goal. There wasn't the same incentive in the WAC. Now, CUSA gives the opportunity to earn a place in a championship game. Things are looking up. :tomcat:

 There are lots of us looking forward to the coming season and the beginning of the new C-USA games. Although we don't play you right away, we look forward to doing so. You folks have a long history of great football. I'm sure you will rise to greater levels in the coming years.

I'm curious, since I know a little about your history, what do you see as your main deterent to becoming a football power once again? Some see the pro games, basketball as well as football, as a hurdle to overcome for success in your future. Would you please shed some light on this subject for me.

I have a latent love for lots of things "Texas", having spent some time in various parts of it, including Dallas. There's also two aTm grads in the family! There used to be some great, fun places just across the street on the south side of your campus. I think that's Mockingbird Lane. Will find out !!

I have several friends that went to SMU. Good folks !!

Welcome to C-USA, good luck and thanks for the information !!

The number one thing SMU needs to do is to recruit on a level playing field with the other schools. Since Dr. Pye re-vamped the school, many degree programs were lost and entrance levels were increased for athletes.

We do not want dum-dums at SMU but not everyone has to dream of being a Dr. or lawyer.

Over the past 10 years SMU has built a stadium, increased the major selections and worked with faculty to recruit normal SAT scores.

SMU is on the way back and the final reason to me is.... I believe in coach Bennett.

Welcome to C-USA! I know that officially I'm 2 months early, but so what? I'm expecting that y'all will be able to recruit better being in the conference and hopefully we'll be able to get the conference some respect. collegefootballnews.com has knocked the whole conference and especially y'all, predicting SMU to finish last in the C-USA west in football. I was wondering what to expect from SMU fans who actually know the situation of the program.
