The thing with the Nooch is because it’s the Cowboys there is a big spotlight on any player and especially the qb. If he gets his chance under difficult circumstances and struggles as rookies often do he better have thick skin. It’s not a fly under the radar kind of spot that you can ease into. By contrast if he ever got his shot and and had immediate success there would be a an controversy and everyone would know the Nooch and his back story quickly.

Didn't notice him majorly blowing a coverage, as I did other Washington DBs. Also he made a nice backside play to tackle the NY QB (after about a 50 yd run 03-lmfao) Reminded me of a Darrell Green tackle on Tony Dorsett.

Hopefully Andy for some reason he isn't able to play all four quarters tonight. I'd like to see Ben play, although I don't think he's a NFL caliber QB.

Ben IS a QB and he IS in the NFL. So, obviously, he IS an "NFL caliber QB." Where is your confusion on that?

Dalton may stink himself right out of this game. If Ben goes in, he will move the Cowboys right down the field. Book it!

Not looking good for the Cowboys. We could see Nooch in the second half.

03-phew
Maybe he can play RB since Zeke can't hold on to the ball. Dalton hasn't done much, but when Zeke fumbles it back to back not sure how Andy is stinking himself right out of the game. Then he put the ball right in Gallup's hands in the end zone for a nice drop before the half.

Cowboys down 25... Dalton just threw another INT. If this keeps up, I think we see Dinucci towards the end of the game

Everyone should be rooting hard for the Cardinals to run it up at this point... The larger the lead, the more likely Dinucci goes in

Looking more and more likely that Ben gets at least a few snaps...

Painfully long 17 play drive by Dalton pretty much assures that Dinucci isn't coming in

Only way he gets in the last minute of the game is an AZ turnover/recovered onside kick

Well...he got some snaps! Granted, just a few handoffs...but not fumbling those given the Cowboys night was good enough. Pretty happy just seeing a JMU QB out there taking some snaps as an NFL QB in a real game - garbage time or not.

If in some bizzaro world where Ben starts for the cowboys next week against Washington, I might have to actually root for Dallas. I’m committed to tanking this year so it would be a win-win.

Good for Ben. Obviously people that get paid to evaluate talent saw something more than some people on here the last two years. Hopefully he gets a shot to start at some point this year but if he gets to be a backup QB for the rest of his career, thats something to hang your hat on

I was all aboard the Nooch train from the beginning, but I even think the bold is a little misguided. Coaches, teammates, and even Ben himself have talked about how much better of a QB he got after the 2018 season. From the beginning, most everyone agreed he had a great arm, and most everyone agreed he lacked consistency.

RE: #ProDukes
That was a good article on Ben from the Post, really good, in fact.

As Dalton and the Cowboys were falling apart late in the first half, the announcers zeroed in on Ben on the sidelines.

That was smart of McCarthy to get him into the game on the last series.

I've seen the QB that Dallas picked up from Cleveland and he's a really good passer with size. I would not discount him from being the eventual starter, notwithstanding his lack of playing time in regular season games. Hopefully, Ben gets a chance. Dalton had some dropped passes, but missed a few downfield throws and is not mobile. The Cowboys' line is beat up, of course, and Budda Baker did a number on them with Chandler Jones out. Zeke suddenly doesn't look like the top flight RB he was under the previous line.

I'm not an Andy Dalton fan, but under the circumstances I thought he had a decent game (despite the score). He had absolutely no protection all night long and had some throws that were dropped (huge drop in end zone at end of half) and made some in the smallest of windows with no time to process. I was thinking to myself how tough that would have been if Ben had to go in under those circumstances. I don't think Houdini could have escaped that rush last night. And after they fell so far behind, the running game that wasn't much beforehand had to be sidelined to play catch-up. I was surprised Dalton didn't get knocked out at some point.

How I saw it too. Zeke helped put that team in a hole...again.

Dalton isn't a throw for 400 yard player.

The INT to start that 2nd half, the ex NFL ref in booth said was PI or illegal contact as did most other talking heads.

I can't make excuses for him holding on to the ball way too long many times, particularly knowing the offensive line is really poor.

We now need to see if DiNucci can beat out Gilbert

If you want DiNucci to have a chance at a lengthy career and to hit his ceiling, whatever that is, I don't think you want him stepping in for Dalton for any length of time, at least not while the division is still competitive (hah). Dalton won't be in Dallas next year, but if DiNucci is forced to come in soon and try to learn the NFL game behind that offensive line he'll struggle mightily, and that might be enough to make McCarthy and the other decisionmakers decide they need a more experienced backup next year as well. Best outcome for him is still running the scout team so the coaches can see him pick up the playbook, getting a few practice reps with the first team, and here or there throwing a pass or two, to justify being the cheap backup that they can keep around or flip for a draft pick.

If Dalton has another game like last night, I think Ben will be given a chance. He hasn't had the reps at this point to be ready, though. Probably needs at least a week, if not two or more. Really tough for any young QB to come in, especially on a team as bad as Dallas is right now. Gilbert, as I've said, can pass (saw him in a preseason game a couple of years ago).

RE: #ProDukes
Ben is (IMO) more mobile than Dalton. With a porous O-Line that may get Dalton wiped out, mobility to take pressure off the O-Line could eventually favor Ben's chances. Or, Dalton gets wiped out and they move to Ben or Gilbert because they have to.

The Washington Football Team's D-Line has to be licking their chops this upcoming Sunday. Of course, Dalton will now shred the WFT defense going 31 of 34 with 6 TD's. *SIGH*

NFC East...

1. Cowpunks 2-4
2. Iggles 1-4-1
3. WFT & NYG 1-5

3 of the 4 total wins in the division are against division foes. The only non-division win was the Cowpunks over the Falcons when ATL handed them a win in Big D with a collapse that included blowing a 29-10 halftime lead, blowing a 39-24 lead with 7:57 left in the game, and of course a poorly (un)covered onsides kick with 2 minutes left and a 2 pt lead.

This division SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUX!

edit note: forgot to include Philly's lone win which was a Week 4 upset at San Fran, 25-20
