Nobody from the NC Congress is observing this discussion and I'm sure nobody's position on this topic has changed. North Carolinians have two gubernatorial candidates who represent each side of this debate and we will find out in November what the majority of the state feel about HB2. In the meantime, there may be additional fallout caused by the passage of that bill that will further ostracize the state, similar to what the bill does to the LGBT community. Funny how it works out that way.
Asheville, Charlotte, Chapel Hill, Durham, and Raleigh will vote against. The rest of the state will vote for.
If you think Boone will vote for, you're out of your mind. Cooper will win with relative ease both in Boone and in the state.
Boone / ASU will vote for it. Watauga County will not.

I live just outside Charlotte and have watched this unfolding the past several years. The point most everyone is missing is the LBGT folks are being used as pawns to push a political takeover by the Democrats. HB2 was a political reaction by a conservative state legislature and governor to a political statement made by Charlotte's uber liberal mayor and city council. McCrory and the Republicans are getting blasted by the media while Democrat Jennifer Roberts and her band of minions go unscathed for starting an unnecessary war. She tried to push this thing through her first year in office but it failed miserably. I know... it's hard to believe the media wouldn't cover this part of the story. Roberts and the Democrats knew exactly what they were doing. They are using this issue to unseat a highly popular governor and legislature that brought NC back from the brink of banruptcy after 100 years of Democrat control. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just not informed, not paying attention or a diehard head-in-the-sand Democrat.

The NCAA needs to suck it.
They have no right to stick their brown noses into the political arena. SPORTS SHOULD NOT BE A PLACE FOR POLITICS PEOPLE.
I'm a Sports Management & Administration major, and that's one thing that was outlined in a few books... don't involve politics into sport.

If the NCAA takes zero action against BYU, then they are really just talking out of both sides of their mouth.

Or dare we mention the other school much closer in Virginia?
This thing is hypocrisy no real way to deny any of it. The timing of it all isn't just made up either. I bet somewhere someone has a few donations and favors in the mix here.

AppMan, I can somewhat understand what your saying but parts of it doesn't ring true or at least are hard to believe. Are you saying the Democrats are trying to retake the state by getting Charlotte's political leaders to pass an ordinance(s) that will allow transgendered people to utilize the restroom of the sex they associate with, non-discrimination of LGBT in the workplace and raising the minimum wage? If that's true, you have some really crafty Democratic leaders in that state! I would have never thought of going through the backdoor and planning on a domino effect. To be honest, I wouldn't give either party that much credit. In my opinion, they have devolved into two gorillas throwing feces at each other!

Where are you getting highly popular governor from? He was a highly popular mayor, and was popular for a year or two as governor, but his approval ratings are in the tank, and have been for a while.
