Nothing wrong with a little conference love. What is the worst that will happen-He not get asked to do this in future years.

RE: Week 2 - Coaches Poll
Just for fun, Imagine if neither of us lose a game between now and our 10/27 matchup. App beats Miami and hung with Tennessee. Ga Southern comes into that game undefeated including a win over our in state ACC neighbors to the north, Ga Tech. Both teams would more than likely be just outside the top 25 with the winner of this game becoming the first ranked Sun Belt team ever.

Again that is a big "if". But man would that be a great addition to this storied rivalry.

I would bet we both would be ranked at this point. If we beat WMU and GT and they beat a ranked Miami this should be a top 25 match up.

That is only a matter of time. I think this year would be sooner than expected obviously but it would be appropriate after sharing the "win a bowl in first eligible season" distinction and Southern coming two 4th quarter collapses away from having three P5 wins in a row and two in the same season.

Western Michigan's value just decreased though considering Illinois State also beat Northwestern.

This is a must!!!
If our own conference coaches don't believe we're worthy, why should any other coaches believe it?!

I'm not so sure about that.

Personally, I think WMU is pretty overrated and owes all of the love it gets from analysts to the tired shtick of their coach. I get it... you wear a shirt and tie to games and chant the same mantra ad nauseam while never shutting up about being 'elite' in everything you do.

I guess GS should be thankful that WMU gets so much press since it will help us when we smoke them again.

RE: Week 2 - Coaches Poll
Whether or not I am getting ahead of myself will have zero affect on the games so, we win the next two we might crack both polls IF WMU is undefeated as well going into the game. WMU has a good chance in picking up a P5 win this weekend. If we win the next three I dont see how a 5-0 team is left out at that point.

App puts a beat down on UM they should crack the polls.... a close win....who knows. UM has not beat anyone good yet and are 25th.

App will need to beat Miami, Arkon, and GA St. and have UTk beat Florida and UGA while and Miami beats GT before we can even talk about breaking into the top 25. There are a lot of media favorites that have to start losing before another G5 teams breaks into that crowd.

Let's start with beating the only top 25 program to every come to Boone first.

I agree with this. If you were JUST looking at our wins then yeah there's a shot, but there are a lot of teams that will have to lose quite a few games before they'll give us the nod.

Again fans looking ahead has never caused one loss..EVER. It is just fun to speculate, if it happens it happens if it doesnt it doesnt.

I think to many other teams lose for you have to go 3-0 the next three. Coaches is our best bet.

AP poll, I agree to much homerism. Our Sav paper sports guy has a vote but he is a UF fan. The Athens guy has uga at 16 after squeaking by a bad FCS team...so my faith lies in the hands of the coaches poll.

There will be four garuanteed 2-0 teams that will be 2-1 after Sat, that is not including many undefeated going against ranked one loss teams. App can beat UM, AU can beat TXAM, ND can beat MSU, Mizzu should beat uga, OK can beat OSU, USC can beat Stanford, and Cal can beat Texas.

Maybe not this week but with conf play taking over by the end of week four I can see App squeaking in with a few P5 inconference "upsets".
