So far the defense is worse than the 2014 version that let everyone score 35 on us. Thing is, the offense on that team was so good we still won 7 games.
This years offense is not capable of doing that.

Was hoping for a close loss. Not sure what the issue is as Toledo and Auburn are two relatively good teams.

Safe to say the players bought the hype. They're a total **** show.

In the past, we had coaches who posted a lot of "moral victories" yet couldn't win or compete in the conference. So far, Anderson seems to be the opposite. His teams have looked really bad against teams with more talent, (Miami, Toledo, Auburn, USC, La Tech) but he has found a way to win against teams where he has a talent advantage. Next Friday night in Logan will be interesting.

For whatever reason and Seminole aside, we are a bad team at this point. Don't understand why or how it has happened. I do not expect us to be in the hunt for a conference championship. Key championship games will involve games between three teams: App St., Georgia Southern, or Troy.

RE: Game Thread: stAte at Auburn 6:30pm CT SEC Network/WatchESPN
The worst year record wise recently was the same year we had a senior QB transfer. We have been using more and more transfers and I imagine they have a lot of physical talent. The really good players have more than that. Case in point is Ryan Aplin. Not a great talent until you put him in a game where a play had to be made. At that point he was head and shoulders better than the next guy. Whoever he might be. So far the players we have have not shown that. If they step up this could be a good team. Their measurable are very good. Not just from Seminole but others as well. Right now they are not a team. Anderson's mantra is "Building a monster". Right now he is trying to short cut to it. Bring in players and grow them to what you want...the last 5 years that's what we had. Ask Troy just how good transfers work out when that is what you are relying on. Sometimes there are reasons besides run times and bench press numbers that cause players to leave their old school. Players need to be winners and some just aren't. I hope ours learn how to be. Right now I don't see it. Now having said that I imagine we have played the two best teams we will play this year barring a bowl game.
