Ga Southern, App and Marshall are all SoCon alums. Southern has played MT more times (7-4) than anyone they were never in a conference with save Savannah State (12-0) and UCF (10-1). Southern played WKU 3 times (2-1) before we joined the SoCon. WKU was accused of putting red dye in the waters of Beautiful Eagle Creek.
Yeah, I'd love to play those guys again.

What purpose does it serve Rice to get into MWC? UTEP location is better off in MWC.

I'd like to see MTSU and a Florida school in there...

So if the MWC snags two of CUSA's Texas schools and the AAC backfills their loses from CUSA, it would leave that league in a weakened state.

It's likely that if CUSA loses two to the MWC and two to the AAC, then they would try to snag two Sun Belt schools to keep the ship from sinking. They would approach the only two who would consider it: Ga State and Tx State. That's the caveat of having a 10 team conference. If any school left, that would leave the SBC in a weakened state. We would likely add NMSU back and one more in the East, possibly JMU.

CUSA could also stay at 10 like the SBC if they lose 4, but again there's that caveat of teetering on the edge and praying you are stable enough.

You all still really believe that the majority would turn down an invite huh? lol... if the AAC and MWC take schools from CUSA, it gives presidents the exact reasoning as to why they should move there. Because you're more likely to move up from there than you are from the Sunbelt. That is, unless of course, you really believe that all presidents would be content with being in the Sunbelt vs being in any other conference ever. Some of you still don't get it. From an administrative standpoint, it wouldn't even be about the "lateral move." It would be about where am I more likely to get an invite in the next go round. Same way the Big 12 is looking to fill from the AAC.

Also, it's far more likely that, depending on how many teams leave the AAC to the Big 12, that the MWC would go after AAC teams first. IE, Tulsa.

That's true.

However, if the Presidents and Chancellors look at the MAC and realize what regional stability can bring in terms of perception then sticking together might not be so bad.
