The Epic Failure of Obamacare
Washington Post Link

Quote:In February 2013, the Congressional Budget Office predicted that 24 million people would buy health coverage through the federally and state-operated online exchanges by this year. Just 11.1 million people were signed up as of late March....

Here's the part I just love....

Quote:A big reason the CBO projections were so far off is that the agency overestimated how many people would lose insurance through their employers, which would force them into the exchanges. But there have been challenges getting the uninsured to sign up, too.

Think about this carefully. We were told that the rationale was to get the "40 million uninsured" insured. Now we find out that the Dems implemented a strategy under which employers would drop their plans and force people onto the exchanges.

The big lie. The epic fail. Obama's signature legislative accomplishment. A total ****** waste.

It does no good to hit it if the population wont educate themselves on it.

The vast majority of people who are ok with Obamacare and who do not receive subsidies are those who are under grandfathered policies, in which did not see a change in the coverage or premium prices. They dont understand what happens when you lose that policy and get booted to the exchanges. And they wont get it until it happens to them.

Then there will be weeping, and gnashing of teeth. And it will be too late to do anything about it.

Even if he doesn't win the election, if he creates sufficient awareness about the problem, then when it actually happens there will be some political hay to be made.

They've had 6 years of education. If it doesnt affect them, they dont care. And thats the problem. They are a group of Lazy Tom's. They will think its a good idea right until the time they get forced onto the exchanges, and then the butthurt starts.

Tom is a good example. He was all for Obamacare as long as he thought he was going to be one of the winners. Then he found out he was going to be a loser instead, and his tune changed to blaming everybody and everything but Obamacare.

. . . or until the IPAB says that Granny Johnson can't have life extending chemo because she's past some arbitrarily set age.

Exactly and when Medicare denies treatment there is no one to appeal to. I have my qualms with how private insurance does things at time but that is one thing people absolutely ignore in a single payer system. When uncle Sam says no treatment thats it

And Big Brother says no a lot. That's how he keeps costs down.

At the end of the day, whatever you pay for health care goes to one of three places--care, administration, and profit. The first thing that government health care does is impose substantial additional overhead costs. Single payer attempts to offset this by taking the profit out of it, but the increased overhead almost always exceeds the reduction in profits, and that reduction provides significant economic disincentives for providers, resulting inevitably in less health CARE than is needed. That's fine because that lets him cut the cost of care. So you pay less, but you get less, and you wait longer for it.

That's fine as long as you stay well. Get sick or badly injured, and it's not fine.

We are in a direct collision course with single payer health insurance...and...THIS is what the Leftists want. I used think they were stupid on this issue. Now...I think they are very smart. This is all going exactly as they hoped it would.
