We didn't want to get moved to the "off topic" death zone.

Can break the 3 game winless streak tonight at home v JMU.

Maybe they can all kneel and pray to get some consistency...

I'm not sure where the game stands but we were tied at 0 in the 80th minute.

Men's Soccer
Looks like it was called a draw and ended after 80.

4 game winless streak now...

Team dominates in many ways with regard to possession and apparent skill, but seems disorganized without much strategy. I still question our coaching. We have way too much talent to be middling in the CAA...for more years than not.

This was a scoreless tie against a JMU team that was winless in eleven games (0-8-3). Very disappointing and poor performance again.

I agree, it's gotta be Coach Norris. 25 years with the Tribe -- 6 winning seasons and a Sweet 16 appearance in the past 9 years clearly indicates a coaching issue.

RE: Men's Soccer
In 11 years, we have made the tourney 3 times, which sounds just ok. I dont think having winning seasons alone is a good way to judge success.

But for comparison, ODU has made the tourney 11 of the last 13 years, without a losing season that entire time.

Soccer is a sport that often has academically minded students, so we should always be competitive. We recruit well, I believe, but I dont feel that our talent is fully realized. Maybe our talent is not as good as we think, since we recruit in a few states that traditionally were good, but perhaps have dropped compared to others. I have noticed that we dont seem to have many international players, which other squads often utilize. Not sure if that would help.

Tribe broke out at Martin Family last night, overwhelming Northeastern 7-1. Soph Antonio Bustamonte with a hat trick! We needed a win like that.

RE: Men's Soccer
Another loss (this time to Elon) with continued sloppy disorganized play, brings our CAA record to 1-3-2.

With only 2 league games remaining, we are in danger of missing the conference tournament two years in a row. When is the last time that happened?

0-3 loss at UVA (played down a man for much of the game).

3 home games in a week start saturday, 2 of which are CAA and bottom dwellers (like us) at that. Still a slim chance of making the tourney if we win both.

RE: Men's Soccer
We're in control of our own destiny for making the CAA tournament. Our final league game (after VCU on Wednesday) against Drexel who is winless in conference play is Saturday night. Teams 3-6 are all hovering on 2-3 wins and various combinations of ties and losses. No idea how the math works out on what seed we get, but a win against Drexel and we're in.

RE: Men's Soccer
I'm not sure I see how we are automatically in with a win over Drexel.

Northeastern tops us if they beat CofC (they tie or lose, we're in).

JMU would be tied with us with 11 points. We tied in our game with them so what is the tie-breaker? If it's record against top-ranked team, then second, etc., then we both lost to Hofstra but they beat Delaware to whom we lost.

I believe overall record is the tiebreaker
