More Interesting Ideas in Conference ReAlignment

Make sure to read the part toward the end regarding AAC adding teams to make a super conference. Makes more sense than some of the ideas I have seen thrown out there.04-rock

A relegation system makes no sense for college sports, there's to much player turnover.

Soccer teams that get relegated go bankrupt quite often.

Competing at the bottom of the lower tier makes more sense than getting skull drug by the teams at the top. Competing at the bottom of the higher tier may soon grant you a spot atop the lower tier. Sounds pretty cewl to me. Keeps the intensity level consistently high and anything merit based in this day and time can't be a bad thing. Ask yourself would this create incentive to compete at a higher level more than the current system? All you have to do is win and your in. Any remaining programs left out would arrange similar systems.

Unfortunately the merry-go-round is getting cranked up again and state is in the cross hairs for change. 03-banghead

most of these alignment articles seem to be written by people who see names on a map but know little about the schools. there are actually NO schools out there to pick that are not considered a little cheesey by most of the members of the B12 with the exception maybe of BYU. if they add BYU and any other school, the second one would have to look to them like a school that has the potential to elevate itself to their level of perceived relevance. they for sure would not add a bunch of lowlanders and certainly none that are two time zones away from the big media centers of football viewers. no level of sales job is going to convince ut-austin or ou fans that a boise state or similar school is their peer so we are looking at who might be the least unacceptable of the prospects.
