I think Mohajir's presentation will utilize an Etch-a-Sketch and a Lite Brite. That should be good, right?

His presentation has one slide. I managed to get hold of it.

Ever since Wolfbird showed up, quality has soared through the roof. Sorry, this ain't your dad's Sun Belt board anymore.

I know. Too much pressure on my post selection now. I should have never mentioned this site to him.

AAC responds by adding USM and NIU or possibly Arkansas State if Memphis is taken.

MWC responds by adding NMSU.

MAC adds Marshall if NIU is taken, but otherwise stays put.

CUSA stays put if both Marshall and USM are taken, and adds JMU if only one is taken.

Sun Belt adds Chatty if Arkansas State is taken.

I have no idea what the fascination with adding a team in a state filled with FBS teams already. Chatty has yet to prove it can hang with the elite in the FCS. This would be a warm body pick if there ever was one with little to no hope of ever growing.

There's no other schools in the footprint that I would consider capable of making the move or that I would want to be associated with us.

Jackaonville state could also be a candidate but you have the same problem with them plus they don't have the academics or the market that UTC does.

Other than those two, there is no one else that would be a good fit for the Sun Belt.

Quit with the academics neither school is going to come up with the cure for cancer

MoSt, JMU and EKU. I would not be surprised to see another FLA or TX try and move up ala out of left field like Coastal Carolina. All would have equal and or in most cases better chances of suceeding in the FBS.

Teams want to be associated with FBS conference outside of the AAC does not matter anymore.

I still want a school with academics in line or ahead of GS. If we want our school and conference to be respected, we have to associate ourselves with good schools that have good athletics and money not EKU. Ideally JMU would be a good add, Mo State and UTC would be decent, JSU would be meh, and EKU would be a hard no.

Arkstfan, this must be your first run in with an ECU fan with this outlook haha. There's quite a few of them. As someone who spent most of my Saturday's inside Dowdy Ficklen before going to App I'm really not sure where the attitude comes from. Solid program for what it is, sure. A program deserving of P5 status and looking down its nose at other programs? Not even close.

Way back in the early 90's talked to them a lot online. After CUSA let them in didn't have much reason to.

RE: Arkansas State included among 17 candidates for Big 12
I think the reasons for this are twofold

get some publicity in the stAte and while Arkansas might laugh at it stAte is still showing they are going to continue to do all they can to improve and to move up

second I think this is to keep up with Memphis which is only an hour away and a good place for stAte to recruit from

if Memphis does not get in then stAte can tell recruits that "well we tried just like they did".....and while some recruits might see it as a long shot when you are dealing with recruits that are choosing between Memphis and stAte I think you are dealing with recruits that like the "attitude" of shooting for the stars and going for the brass ring so taking a long shot and getting your name out there speaks to those recruits and tells them that the university will not be shy about "selling them" if they do something special and the university is going to sell themselves instead of being a wall flower

Razorback fans haven't been laughing. You don't laugh at a potential deadly meteor strike on your house....even if the odds are low. They've been pretty quiet. It will probably change after danger has passed.
