Can he bulk up and play TE? He's got the hands and the open field speed for a TE. I don't think he has the quickness to get off the line to be an effective WR at D1. As a TE, however...

Agreed. Likely D2-3 player. Looks close a Hunter Boersma skill level. Boersma just transferred to GVSU. WMU is loaded at both WR and TE actually.

Commit #21

DL/TE Marshawn Kneeland - Grand Rapids, MI, Godwin Heights HS - 6'4" 240 lbs.
https://247sports.com/Player/Marshawn-Kn...-46059522/
Highlights: http://www.hudl.com/profile/5587621/Marshawn-Kneeland
Other offers: GVSU, Western Illinois

Gotta say, he moves pretty well for a big fella. They had him lined up out wide on offense.

Did he fall through the cracks a bit because he's a tweener? Dang, my sophomore year in HS, we couldn't two-platoon, and I thought I was the only dumb SOB on the planet to ever play DT and WR (at 5'9" and 145, can you believe I played DT and didn't see a snap at WR?). I love this guy already.

He does move well, has a good motor, good pursuit. Have him drop a few pounds and let's do Jamarko 2.0, eh?

I would assume he has some sort of qualifying or grade issue.

Godwin doesn't exactly play a high level schedule. I'm guessing D1 schools didn't pay attention or maybe Lester staff spotted something else. He would have signed early I would think. Best wishes to him as a Bronco

He won the state hurdles in his division, plays basketball, has the height, and was the recipient of many of Wenzel's passes.

Baldwin is headed to UM for Track & Field

Stanley King, from Woodrow Wilson High in Camden, New Jersey is in town for a visit. Would be an absolutely HUGE get for us. Played in the Under Armour All American game and has been previously committed to Rutgers and Louisville.

Is listed at 6 foot 5 and anywhere between 175 and 190 pounds. Looks to have legit speed with his tall and lengthy frame. Sky is the limit.

There's a good chance we land him. His QB, Nick Kargman, has already signed with WMU. It is late in the process and I think he is going to fall right to us.

Between King and Tyrece Woods, we could put a great topper on this solid 2019 class. Let's get it!

So losing Thorne may turn out to be a better overall recruiting event this season! Heck yeah!

CB Zonterio Weekley, who signed with Michigan in February as a PWO, is now headed to WMU. Weekley played at Kalamazoo Central and had a handful of offers from DII schools before Michigan offered him a PWO. There was a problem with admissions at U-M, so now he will be enrolling at WMU in June.

We got another grad transfer. WR Cortez Lewis from Wake Forest. Sat out last season with an injury, but in 3 seasons as an underclassman at Wake he had 88 receptions for 1158 yards and 5 TDs.

Ugh, another WR? I don't understand. They talk up the youngsters and then bring in vets.

I seriously believe Drake Harris hirt the progress of Hall and others last season.

With Dee Eskridge sharing time at CB and Luke Sanders moving to TE, we're going to have like 10 full time WRs this season. And that includes a couple of walk-ons. So it's no wonder the staff is looking for some depth at the position.

If Sanders stays at TE and Eskridge plays corner primarily, here's the rough depth chart right now:

Starters:
Reed
Hall
Arnett or Bussell

2s:
Bussell or Arnett
Lezzer

Walk-ons:
Curtis
Cooper
Hinds

True freshman:
Crooms
Coleman
Foster

As reported above. Looks like former Wake Forest WR Cortez Lewis will be a Bronco. 5th grad transfer 2018 but apparently did not play in 2018 due to injuries. 3* 6'2 205 recruit out of Alabama. ACC, B10, Boise had interest.
