RE: Unofficial Football Practice Begins
Wow, how little these people know about our actual team or roster.

The only real nugget of insight in the whole article:

"You can’t expect to get wins in October and November if you don’t pick up some wins in February, something that the Creighton era hasn’t really done. The Eagles are sitting at #10 right now in the conference according to 247Sports, and they’ve only locked down six commits so far (second-fewest in the MAC) with none being three-star prospects (tied with Akron for fewest). A team is only as good as its players, and EMU would really benefit from a better effort on the recruiting trail."

RE: Unofficial Football Practice Begins
I think we've finished 8th-10th in the MAC the previous years under CC which is about where EMU generally finished. In the most recent practice video CC addresses the HBO special which he refers to as riff raff which is appropriate and recruiting. The OC speaks about the WRs and QB but doesn't say a word about the OL. Our depth will be very young at DB. Yes we need to improve the recruiting so far this year. I still think the JUCO route is a promising way to go recruiting wise at least for now.

However the big story for EMU this season I believe is not the offense but the defense this year. After years of playing el toro defense waving to RBs and WRs s they jet on by and not tackling I'm hopeful we'll see vast improvement and play some real stick to them in the gut defense.

The defense will be much better than people expect and the offense will not be as good as the pundits expect.

Nothing new to us. But several of their writers are optimistic for us this year, and have commented that we have the possibility to hang around with Mizzou this year.

Don't know what these guys are drinking:

"One Bold Prediction

Roback is the top returner at QB in the MAC West in 2017. The potential is there for Roback to have a very big year in 2016: a talented RB and some pretty good WRs returning, as well as an offensive line with something to prove this season. If he can minimize the negative plays and threaten defenses more vertically, Roback can be a really dangerous player in the league."

Zac Terrell?????? He's pretty damn good, I thought.
They are saying that a year from now (2017) Roback will be the top QB in the West after Terrell, Rush, and Hare graduate. I thought Riley Neal from Ball State looked very good for a true freshman last year. It has been a while since we have had an upper echelon QB in the MAC. Andy Schmitt developed into a very good player but was overshadowed by Dan Lefevour and Nate Davis.

I don't know what they're drinking. Funny line???

But I know I shouldn't post a few hours after sunset. 04-chairshot I missed the reference to 2017.

I'm a morning person...

For whatever reason, I've been having this discussion a lot recently. What would the ratio of HS:JUCO be then and in what areas? Akron isn't going to stay at 8-5, but what Bowden has been doing is finally paying off.

Mine opinion is that you try to get the Michigan high school kids and as many of your high school recruits as you can but also have JUCO targets, I like to see maybe 25% JUCOs and the rest high school kids in a 25 person class. But you recruit where you have success and that means more JUCOs so be it. One area that Genyk especially hit was prep schools like Fort Union, Hun etc. haven't seen that with this staff.

Mitchell the walk on at DB appears to be gone. Justice Williams switched to 56 no sure if that means another player has left.

Dear steve,
Well the lone comment certainly doesn't like Eastern, but I think Eastern will surprise people this year.

He sounds an awful lot like someone else on this board, who shall remain nameless, that everyone knows and loves.
