So leaving the SB for this is worth paying how many millions? The bottom minus two bellow 100 leaves Texas State, ULM, and USA. If you can't see the potential in the SB your heads in the sand. We need to keep this conference together just like it is. Let no one in and no one leave...

Teams cycle. Everybody has up years and down years. GA Southern is riding an up cycle right now, but trust me, GSU's day in the dumpster is coming. It comes around to everybody. Rankings are a snapshot in time. Nothing else.

How worried are Cajun fans?

The Cajuns will be favored - but it might be between 3 and 7 points.

Brother, we've spent the last 10 years being forcibly kept in the dumpster by our administration. Then we got a competent president, AD, and coach team together to awaken a sleeping giant in 2012. Pardon us because we are going to stretch our legs a little before taking off. We've paid our dues already. Our future is bright.

Okay what's this have to do with my post? Fella can't share some optimism without a CUSA fan injecting a snide comment. Just more evidence times are changing more quickly than expected.07-coffee3

So guys, don't worry about what's going on in the rankings cause Georgia State has this **** on lock.

According to one of their players, they have the best defense in the Sun Belt, so I guess none of us have a chance at doing anything this year.

Yes....FIU, Rice, FAU, UTEP, UTSA, UNCC, and UNT are all giants who are now just struggling with bad coaching hires. Come on. You are right that every team makes a bad coaching hire and has down years, but down years aren't the same for each team. Six wins would be a pretty down year for Georgia Southern historically, it would be a special year for many CUSA teams.

It's preseason rankings, not end-of-season rankings. We are a below a team we beat by 31 points and 1 spot above a team we beat by 26.

1. I was talking about Jeff Monken, not Willie Quitz
2. Willie Quitz left for the money, not for program status.
3. Good riddance, he lost to Georgia State. He probably would have lost our bowl game. He would have started this season on the hot seat anyway and one loss would have sent him packing.

Good for him. The thing is we keep winning, we aren't reliant on some 1 hit wonder coach. We fire people that are better than 500, can you say that?

Troy wasn't very concerned last season against Charleston Southern, who finished ranked #6 in FCS... and Troy beat them 44-16. So ULL should have zero worries.

The prior year coming into the Belt we had four FCS losses would have likely been 15th at best in the polls. The next year we went undefeated in the Sun Belt. Just saying to top FCS teams can compete with the bottom 1/4 of the FBS. NDSU can compete and beat most, even with being 20+ schollies down.

Unless we have a bad coach the talent is fine as we already out recruit you only two years into the FBS. It is not like it was by a few spots either you were 21 spots down the rankings. The only CUSA team to legit out recruit us last year was Marshall.
