All great men have an "e" at the end of their first name. That's just a fact.

Fun article. Thanks for doing the research.

RE: Mystery Solved: Why Jimmye Laycock spells his name with an E!
I was fortunate to get to know Mrs. Laycock in her later years. Despite having grown up around Tribe Football and graduating from W&M in the late 90's, I had never met her before.

My wife and I built a home in Loudoun County (Purcellville, VA) in 2000. When looking for a local Church we settled on one in Hamilton, VA (the next town - and where Coach Laycock was born and raised) and met Mrs. Laycock. We developed a friendship and bond with her over the last several years of her life. Our first daughter was born on her birthday. She doted on her as one of her own.

Her pride in Coach Laycock and his brother, John, always shined through. She was a fantastic woman.
