To be fair, ECU has proven themselves more on this level than APP has. At this juncture, they a few steps higher on the college football ladder. I do think APP's potential is higher than ECU's though.

I'd love to hear your rationale for that statement

I fully believe this. Most of our fans do not care to play this series.

I didn't say we were on equal footing as a program, but we're both G5 programs now. We're peers. Our H & H should be equal.

How often does one G5 team get a 2 for 1 deal with another?

I have a great deal of respect for the ECU football program, but we aren't chopped liver.

I'd be dissapointed in Gillin if we consent to a 2-1-1.

If this is a 2-1-1 deal, look for Gillin to use this as a catalyst to raise money for an expansion project. A line like "if our stadium held 35k this could have been a four game H&H.

If our fans answer the call this could be a nice long-term win for us.

It's an awful deal.

Maybe Memphis will call us and see if we will scoot one of our home games to Tyronza.

Swallow what pride??? ECU left us behind in 1979. We are so far behind them it isn't funny. D o you know how much money they raise or how big their budget is compared to ours? Ever since we beat Michigan some of our fans have lost all common sense.

You may be surprised. ECU fans support their program better than any program in NC.

People are looking at the neutral game as a negative, App views it as an opportunity. Perspective.

I haven't heard anyone complain about playing in Charlotte. The complaints are about playing twice in Greenville and once in Boone. If it were two in each and a fifth game at BOA Stadium I'd be thrilled with the arrangement -- because it would be fair.

Those two are a hell of a lot closer than ECU is to NC State ($76 M) or UNC ($89 M).

We all know how ECU has and would react(ed) to being offered something akin to a 2-1-1 deal with the Heels and the Wolf Pack.

We're peers.

that's an interesting angle, I could see Gillin doing this, and it would be a smart move on his part, if we want better competition in Boone, we need to add permanent seating to accommodate the visiting fans, and he would be justified making this argument.

If you want to take the perspective that you are behind ECU, go ahead. Just don't tie it to the rest of us because there are several SBC Schools who see ECU as an equal, and equal's don't play 2 for 1's

We've played UNC and NC State H&H for years. We've beaten them both two times in a row. We gave UNC their biggest loss in history.

I know. That's the point I was making.

Great to see you put a whoppin on the Holes, by the way. It brought me great joy.

Gillin's a businessman more so than most ADs.

We see them as equals on the football field, but we're all deluding ourselves if we talk about ECU being an equal in fan support, or football spending to anyone in the Sun Belt, or anyone in the G5. We're two years into FBS, and I think we'll get there eventually, but they have a 30 year head start on us right now. This is a team we want to play, and they have the bargaining power right now. Losing one game in Boone, and playing it in Charlotte instead isn't that horrible of a deal. I like the idea of a game at BOA, even if I would prefer it being a 2-2-1.

This isn't about fan support, it's a game. We host Memphis a bunch, despite the fact that they clearly have larger fan support, and more big money donors (Okay just Fred Smith actually). Our stadium isn't large enough to hold their fan base during their best years, but we'd never agree to a 2 for 1 with them. It's not our problem if their fans can't all travel...this isn't about letting more traveling fans in, it's about providing games that are great for your own fans.

I just don't understand the idea that the seating capacity at Kidd Brewer is keeping this from being a 2-2-1. You want App fans at that game, not ECU fans.
