These days, we pretty well have the market cornered on those.

Why does he only have 1 ring on each finger? That doesn't seem normal to me.

Because he's not FCS . . .

Got to be honest, you say this guy isn't a homer but I don't see it

I think so.

I'll let the A-State fans comment on Mr. Roberson.and for the record I don't think your team is that talented overall, and if everybody associated with their program not written off the game against a mediocre AppSt team in 2014 as an auto "w" this would be a mute issue.

While their overall talent advantage made it a certainty they would redeem themselves 2015, against a better team IMO, everyone knew that the embarrassing loss would sting for a while.

I've known that piece of **** A-State grad traitor Matt Roberson since 4th grade when he moved from Pine Bluff. I haven't seen the Jonesboro Sun article but if he picked stAte first and said those positive things that would be a first! He's the least homer beat writer of any school in the SBC. Our Arkansas Democrat Gazette beat writer, who also covers UCA and Little Rock, is A-State's best beat writer - and he's a Mizzou guy.

The Jonesboro Sun should fire that clown Roberson - I don't think he even went to New Orleans for media day. And I know he's a hog lover. F him.

EDIT: As far as the OP. It's hard not to pick App as a favorite given their schedule. If they beat us in Statesboro I think they are pretty much a lock to at least share a title next season.

He's not a homer, he just doesn't care enough to do research. He's too busy FOIAing our Spring Game attendance to prove a point for some article he wrote.

I don't even read the Jonesboro Sun anymore

I'm an stAte fan and I was extremely happy with both teams' success the first two years, including the bowl wins. Seriously, why would anybody be upset with a fellow conference member winning their bowl game? I don't get the angle. Together we rise, and all. When the Sun Belt looked to add teams, the two of you were the ones I wanted. I've experienced no buyer's remorse. Go on...

Yeah. I'm not ready to buy. I think that thought will be put to rest again on October 5th of this year. Finish strong...

Good job! Keep it up, and maybe one day you can be...

Oh geez, here we go with this crap again. Believe me when I tell you that no one is overtly worried about a "changing of the guard" Georgia Southern won a title during a year in which we were reloading a bit, and we took the title back last year.

I didn't find tons of people who were "upset" by either of you winning your bowl games, though there were some AState fans savagely cheering for Bowling Green and Ohio more out of spite that App was still outdoing us in National coverage last year despite the head to head result, and Georgia Southern fans on Twitter are hilarious when the Eagles lose. If anything, we were bitter ourselves from how awful we looked in the 2nd half against Tech, and the trolling that followed.

Don't think that anyone is upset by you guys beating the crap out of the rest of the Sun Belt. We still want and plan to be the access bowl rep out of the G5, and we're certainly not doing that if the entire conference stunk. Like it or not, we need you guys to be good.

AppSt fans know their team does not have to play them for two years, so it was expected.

How about both us and Arkansas State go 12-0, with one of us being an at-large and one being the G5 rep for the Cotton Bowl and we'll see y'all in Arlington? That way we won't have to wait 2 more years to break the 1-1 tie. 04-cheers

Assignment football.

It will be a challenge, but they are so much more athletic, faster, deep and experienced on that side than GaSo is anywhere they should be very effective.

The problem for GaSo and the rest of the belt is by the time conference play roll around no SBC team will be able to handle their offense, which will also be by far the best in the SBC.

Point is this years A-State team is head and shoulders above any SBC team in talent, and I fully expect that by the end of the year they will recognized as the best team ever in SBC.

Same: Looks like Cauthen's only real experience with it was at MTSU.

2013: L- 24-6 (Navy)
2012: W- 49-28 (GT)
2011: L- 49-21 (GT)

Not much to really glean from that IMO.

Good lord son! For a Texas homer you really do need to stop with how much talent they have over the rest of the college football world.

The ASU's might become a serious rivalry at this rate. GS fans might get a little jealous 03-weeping

We (Appy and GS) are still getting used to having other teams that are real contenders (or top dog) besides ourselves. Maybe Troy or ULL will get back to the top and push us down a few notches. I don't know what will happen this season, but based on returning talent and new blood we have a very strong team. The coaching could set us back or take us to another level (Quitz couldn't win the big games: see GT, NCST, UGA. If he holds on to win those games and doesn't throw the GaSt game he would still be seen in a positive light, instead of being little satan). I have us favored or toss-up in every game except the Ole Miss (maybe they aren't that good this year and we take another SEC scalp).

Basically I think there are 3 teams at the top this year. state, App, GS. BUT I think a few other teams good exceed expectations and make a push for a top three spot (Troy or ULL). And pretty much everyone else can beat anyone on any given day. The only gimme game for GS is SSU. I'm actually nervous about everyone else until I see what our team and coaches can really do (I'm hopeful).

Together we #beatthecrapouttaeachother

Yet with all that superior talent it took two gifts from App for the Wuffs to win the game.

I need SI to rank the top ten G5 programs based upon his talent evaluation process, I'd love to see where he puts Ark St. on that list.
