Hell, I've reported John repeatedly for not sourcing some of his outrageous claims.

Even though I 100% disagree with their politics, Redwingtom and Mach at least make an effort to source their opinions or have civil discussions. Yeah, an occasional Machdown is to be expected.

such as?

If you don't see what you qualify as "civil discourse" from the left any more, it's because we're tired and fed up. It's impossible.

And while you may very well have an all-star team of moderators for this site, bottom line, the moderators for this forum are really only Hambone and LordStanley. The others aren't involved in any day to day operation that I've seen in a long long time. And while they're doing the best they can, there's just not much diversity with those two.

What are you tired and fed up with? Is it the name calling or the feeling that the left is outnumbered?

Well, the left IS substantially outnumbered on this site so it's not a "feeling", and that is what leads to the issue. One comment is met with many more responses from the contrarians on the other side. But it's rarely confined just to rational rebuttals. It's the pictures, the memes, the off-handed one liners, the deflections and the thread-jacks. Just yesterday, my thread about whether we should study gun violence was met with an initial response from someone on the right about marijuana.

And as far as the name calling, yes, it's annoying. It should either go back to the way it was (which yes I knowingly and gladly participated in), or it should be totally stopped with something more than a 5% (one week) warning.

pretty much this. it's the reaction gifs/pics or the "lol okay" sort of responses which are annoying as f*** because none of the left posters do it and the righties do it all the time.

Last time I tried to engage the OP (to debate Brexit), I was called a moron at least 5 times despite continuing to brush it off and reply at a high level. Couldn't believe this thread was started.

If the American sniper guy had his medal count increased or a major lib media figure was in a sexual harassment scandal you guys would discuss it. but because the opposite is true in both cases you guys have been mute.

You started this thread to silence free speech, not working pal.

and FYI. this thread was just a playful jab at the cons to remind them that they should pay better attention to the selection bias of this place. didn't intend for it to become a state of the forum type thing. i'm more disappointed that this thread has gone 14 pages and no one here is talking about the Hamburger thing.

There you go mods. Typical leftist behavior.

this right here is proof that GTS lives in an alternate reality. I get called out for not sourcing, I ask said poster for an example of this, he responds with an insult.

Did you report it? Not fussing at you, just asking. There appear to be two mods to monitor the entire hen house.

Good lord John. None of the left posters derail threads? Are you kidding me?

That's a violation of the AUP... more later

You've ALL gotten away with numerous violations of the AUP in this thread..... including one who is obviously begging to be banned, perhaps to wear some childish badge of honor... but instead it was merely 'unapproved'.

I'll say it again, and you (all) can either accept it or not... but it's true.

"he did it too' isn't a defense that adults use. It's what children use. If someone does something, report it. It will likely be enforced against them about as often as it is enforced against anyone else.. which means rarely, as long as they step back.

Especially those of you who respond to what you think are violations with what everyone on the planet would agree are violations.

Some of you who have decided to simply be 'trouble makers' need to grow up or risk being banned.

I'm tired of treating adults like 5 year olds.
