RE: Jordan Cornish to Tulane
With Coach Dunleavy having recruited two transfers it appears that the 2016/2017 season is being sacrificed for the greater good of the long haul.
Good idea.

I think Larry Brown set forth the blueprint for new coaches when he brought in Kennedy and Nic Moore right away, as transfers.

"Cornish joins a team with a distinct New Orleans flavor. Point guard Von Julien (Riverside), small forward Melvin Frazier (Higgins) and power forward Blake Paul (Landry-Walker) join Cornish as highly-rated prospects from the New Orleans metro area on the Green Wave squad. Julien, Frazier and Paul are all sophomores while Cornish will be a redshirt sophomore this season. "
Home grown talent. I like it.

Wonder if he was disappointed in the 4 year players he tried to get is that he changed his strategy...where about 5 weeks ago, article (includes video interview) starts out with: "New Tulane basketball coach Mike Dunleavy said he has turned down some players who wished to transfer. Why? Dunleavy said he wants to build his program with four year players."

Is this the "NO-Town takeover"?
Can we call you the "New Jack Boyz"?
Is Tulane going to get their own gang sign now?

Well if you're trying to recruit graduated/ing seniors in May of their senior year, you generally will be disappointed. We found 1, which was fortunate. Smart to use transfers, at least to get started. They're part of the game now - a lot more than they used to be. Dylan O was recruited off of our roster well before he announced any interest in transfer...against the rules, but no one cares.
He's Dunleavy's second transfer. We got a freshman center from Vandy right around the time that article you link was published.
We have a third lined up, if we can get him through admissions. Another bench warmer just announced his transfer. We have 1 or 2 open schollies still.
