Clune has more (and good) experience than even Fuller had - but he's older and primarily West Coast background. His recruiting contributions in Memphis are not a strong suit.

LB coach profile is ideally a younger hotshot/on the rise who is as much recruiter as position coach.

Silverfield identifying a younger assistant such as this seems much more doable and having Clune and remaining D staff (assuming DL and secondary coach stay) build off/tweak Fuller's concepts.

Otherwise 3 DC in three years has been seen all too often by UM - and it's ugly.

Playing fast on defense because you know what you're doing is a good thing - why slow down returning D starters..
