Regan Rome
Tribe Sophomore, Regan Rome, flew all the way to Oregon and placed 7th in the NCAA Outdoor National Championship tonight (5,000 meter). That's amazing, especially coming in as a 10th seed. Her final mile was under 5 minutes...I couldn't drive a scooter that fast.

I know zippy about T&F but I have to think 7th Nationally and 1st Team All-American will earn her a tryout for our Olympic squad.

She's already crushing W&M records and she still has 2 years ahead of her.

RE: Regan Rome
Great race by her. Unfortunately, she will not qualify for US Nationals/Olympic Trials in the 5,000. They take everyone who has run the automatic time of 15:25 and then add in other runners to make it 24 entrants. Her fastest time this year is 15:58. That does not put her as one of the top 50 American women times over the qualifying period so she won't qualify.

On the Men's side alums Christo Landry (who has been a great road racer) and Jonathan Grey have qualified in the 10,000.

RE: Regan Rome
By finishing seventh she is named first team All-American. Running a remarkable 4:58 final mile, the fifth fastest outdoor mile in W&M history, she demonstrates a tremendous up side for her remaining two years at W&M. Rome also will run 10000 meters next year where she, potentially, will be a double threat in both the 5000 and 10000.

A great sports year for the Tribe and a superb way to end it!
