Surprise surprise! I wonder how many others exist who they tried to sneak by the first time this all blew up.

WOW... in the comments from OTL they said Baylor asked her to take a different route when leaving that building AND she had to get permission to go to any campus buildings that weren't on her official class schedule. Complete institutional loss of control.

I said as a consultant to help with the offense. He would have no say in recruiting or player performance.

Now you're just trolling. trying to start an argument.

No one here (save for OldOwl above) has even remotely come close to suggesting we hire Briles.

No, I would never suggest that we hire Briles. I am just stating that their APR was not far off of ours.

A fine example of how meaningless the APR stats are.

Nor am I suggesting we hire Briles - either one.

Why would we want to lend him credibility or tarnish our brand? The price of his expertise, however valuable it might be, is too high.

A potential Baylor starter at WR is in trouble for hitting his dog. Now I will say that the extent to which the Baylor players are facing public scrutiny is getting rather ridiculous, the video (which you can see if you follow the link) is really graphic. I understand being upset at your dog if he or she poops in the house, but this kid took it to the extreme.

I'm pretty sure another article said he won't miss any time. The quotes from Grobe are pretty dismissive of the incident. What type of moron puts himself committing a crime on snapchat? That program is reaping the rewards of Briles' recruiting still.... Won't be surprised if more issues surface this season.

Setting aside Baylor's "discipline", could he be charged with animal cruelty/abuse?

That is a very dangerous requirement because it allows someone stalking her to know which route she will take.

Can't beat Oklahoma or TCU but can beat the dog. It looks like he is using a newspaper to swat the dog. The dog probably does not have a long enough memory to know what he is being hit for.

Baylor is an unholy mess. That kid needs help (as does his dog, obviously).

That may be reflective of the way the kid was disciplined as a child. He wouldn't know any better way without some help. That as well as an unconscious presumption that the dog knows what is appropriate behavior and what is not, from a human perspective. I've caught myself making the same foolish presumption with my pet in the past, imputing them with responsibility for things they did which wouldn't be normal for a mature human but were completely normal for a canine. And then punishing them for their [normal canine] behavior, which didn't do anything but scare the dickens out of them and drive them away from me. Hate to make this comparison, but it kind of works the same way with other people who may have a different view of reality and normalcy then we do. Especially our loved ones.

Zamora has been suspended three games, which means he can't return until after the Rice game.

Art took in some UofH practices recently off the radar.

RE: Report: Art Briles out at Baylor
I read about this a day or two ago. I’m assuming this is some sort of pro or semi-pro team like the numerous European basketball teams. Briles obviously is pretty desperate to get back in the game. If he’s successful in Italy it will be interesting to see if he will be able to rehabilitate his reputation enough to come back and coach in the states. It might be tough. There’s a long memory for covering up alleged sexual assault.
