Funny, Tom, this Obama EPA photo clearly was not photo shopped. Who was held responsible for this in Colorado?

From what little I know of this issue, the EPA went in to clean up a closed gold mine and screwed up. They admitted it and are working to fix the problem.

But the EPA is far from the only culpable party in this, it appears.

It always interests me when folks point fingers and blame the EPA or EPD when private companies deserve at least part if not the lion's share of credit. Would the EPA have had to clean up the mine had its owners done the responsible thing over the years?

It reminds me of a fish kill on the Ogeechee some years ago. The EPD was blamed for not adequately monitoring discharges from a manufacturer of certain chemicals used in the making of sunbrella.

While the EPD deserved some blame, it's also important to note that GOP administrations and a GOP dominated general assembly in Georgia effectively cut the agency to the bone in terms of manpower and budget at the same time the state was growing like a damn weed.

It's a joke, all those folks who ***** and moan about government regulation and taxes then in turn blame those agencies who've essentially been stripped of the wherewithal to function for failing to do their job.
