Iron Fist getting ripped.

We will see next Friday.

I am sorry that I did not respond to the Green Arrow comment and question. I guess that Iron Fist and Green Arrow share a similar back story. Green Arrow and Batman are very similar, too.

These characters were started as children's characters. Simple backstories and costumes are the beginning of the adventure.

It was Alan Moore and others that deconstructed the characters and moved them toward more mature stories.

So, we get R rated movies like Logan and series like Iron Fist.

I feel like the Marvel and DC are flooding the market. It's just not nostalgic anymore. There's been countless superhero movies and far too many television shows to boot. Green Arrow is OK, Luke Cage was actually very good, but that one where they constantly travel in time is dumb as sh1t. I think Marvel and DC needs to slow down on new series or stop altogether or the market could just completely stop watching them. That would ultimately suck because the stories are mostly good.

Yeah, the DC show Legends of Tomorrow.... ehhh.... IMO the weakest of the Arrow/Flash/Supergirl shows. The thing is though, I liked their villains... and heros in their own shows... but the combo in their own series had way too many misses and not enough hits.

Now I haven't done Agents of Shield but IMO

DD S1 > JJ > DDS2 ~= LC

I'll give Iron Fist a shot if for no less than its the final set up before their ensemble The Defenders. But DDS2, even if I did like the Punisher arc felt slightly less epic than S1. LC... I liked is pop ups in JJ but overall the series had some story issues. Killgrave was one of the best villains they have used and he was on JJ.

I like the Marvel movies. They are trying to tell one giant story. Which has never really been done like this before.

Well, giving Iron Fist a shot. All I can say is that when appeared in some animated Marvel show with his buddies I wasn't all that interested in him and my only interest in this one is because it will tie into The Defenders of which I liked Daredevil and Jessica Jones.... and found Luke Cage decent.

I watched the first three episodes of Iron Fist last night. I enjoyed what I saw, and it kinda reminded me of that Clive Owen movie The International with a Marvel spin. Of course, I have plenty more to get to before I can make a real judgement, but so far, so good.

RE: Netflix Marvel Series (thread)
My next viewing of Iron Fist will be episode #5.

Again, I am going in now knowing a whole hell of a lot about the guy and his story....

The Rand/Meachum family dynamic seems very twisted in that Soap Opera kind of way.

The Hand tie in, which I guess will be the common element to tie all the series together, seems to be progressing a decent rate... I swear it sounds like the stuff the Daredevil series was getting into, their land grabs.

Interesting how they played CarrieAnn Moss's lawyer from Jessica Jones tie in... tough to call on where her mood and modus operendai would fit in chronologically as I recall her issues with her firm and working with JJ.

RE: Netflix Marvel Series (thread)
I have 3 episodes left to finish in Iron Fist and IMO:

I don't get the hate it got...

For a guy who is a bad ass martial artist by all accounts the martial arts fighting in this series is so so.

The crossover characters work so far...

You can tell the story arc(s) presented so far were governed by the fact it plans to tie into The Defenders with getting into "The Hand" so much.

Not knowing much about the story canon I find The Hand, the branches of The Hand, and the monastery where he got trained to be confusing about what their motives are. In other words, I found the similar to me angle of the League of Shadows with Batman/Green Arrow (more specifically the GA tv show), to better thought out.

As of right now I would put this last in my Netflix Marvel Show rankings but I wouldn't call it bad at all.

Post "The Defenders" I wonder what will happen with the 4 series: DD, JJ, LC, and IF. I am sure each of the lead characters has enough content of their own to fuel a season unto themselves...but... would they entertain the route of Green Arrow/The Flash/Super Girl/ Legends of Tomorrow in terms of crossover episodes? And even with all that said you have The Punisher coming soon as well. I really liked Wilson Fisk/Kingpin as a character from DD.... I really liked the uniqueness of Killgrave from JJ. I wonder how they end up juggling this.

How the hell does RT have it at 19%, I've just binge watched the whole ******* season and loved the whole thing. Kung Fu, mystical legend, and a drunken bad guy, what isn't there to love?

Agreed. I was even able to watch it with my 13 year old without having to skip huge portions. I don't understand what's not to like. We finally got the "Bad guy" in the Hand. Which DD2 went into, But not at the level as Iron Fist does. It sets up the Defenders perfectly. You can see Danny needing allies to investigate the Hand. Jessica Jones fits the bill. You could also see Rand corp sending its law team to free Luke Cage.

You know if there are any plans to include Elektra and The Punisher in the defenders series? I'd love to watch The Punisher kick ass.

Crickets is all I've heard about the Defenders. I would absolutely love for the Punisher to be added to the Defenders. He is such a contrast from the passive style of Iron Fist and Luke Cage.

Which seems to be needed for going up against The Hand.

Netflix MCU can do no wrong in my eyes, also, I wish I had known Tennant was in Jessica Jones and hadn't waited until now to watch it.
