OT: Patton Oswalt
Sad news for the extended W&M family, as Michele McNamara (True Crime Diary), wife of Patton Oswalt ('91), passed away unexpectedly in her sleep Friday night.

Patton, featured on the cover of the current issue of the W&M Alumni Magazine, was a well respected comedian and actor. For those of us who enjoy sci-fi/adventure, he played the Koenig brothers (all three of them) on the ABC-TV show Agents of SHIELD.

Michele was a crime writer, who graduated from Notre Dame. She leaves behind her husband and her 7 year old daughter, Alice. She was 47.

Our condolences go out to Patton and his family.

Wow, this is a tough read. On the Davidson board someone posted a video about losing your dog to old age and I thought that depressed me. Now overcoming the loss of your wife?

I guess all these are to make me think that losing in tournaments isn't the end of the world...

Agreed - a lot of emotion in his post. Tough to read. It definitely has a way of focusing one's perspective.
