RE: JMU has largest athletics subsidy among publics
Hmmmm...
Academic peers according to US News & World Report:
Elon, Rollins, The Citadel, Samford, Belmont, Stetson, etc.
Athletic peers according to Alger's COA letter:
VMI, New Hampshire, Vermont, Wofford, William & Mary, etc.
Athletic peers according to our budget:
Houston, Boise State, Memphis...just a few of the schools that have been ranked in the top 10 in FBS over the past 5 years and all have budgets below JMU.
Something isn't adding up 03-confused
Considering JMU is getting so much of its money from mandatory student fees...I think there are some ethical inquiries into is it even fair to ask students to foot the bill when the university refuses to offer a comparable product for their investment. It would be like someone selling you a $1 million house but only putting $100,000 worth of material into it.

JMU'S leadership has some splaining to do. The money & support says CUSA but leadership says Elon-level.
