Oops, thanks Billymac--original post is corrected. $15 wouldn't get us a whole lot...not even one basketball. But $15k...that's another story.

For those that want to make a payment and/or pledge:

You can send an email to Jean Beall (jebeal@wm.edu) with the following language:

Please accept this as my pledge of $________ to allocation (2875) MBB Academic Support Student Assistance Summer School at the Athletic Educational Foundation. I will fulfill this at $_________ a year beginning April 19, 2016 and continuing for the next 4 years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.

You can then make a payment through the Tribe Athletics website (https://secure.acceptiva.com/?cst=ecd11c). Select “other” in the drop down designation box and write Men’s Basketball Academic Support/Summer School (2875) in the comment field. You can make the payment now if you want, or you can wait until One Day One Tribe on April 19.

Let me know if you have any questions about the pledge or payments.

FYI, if you wanted to make the OTOD donation to this scholarship today, it is an option under athletics
"MBB Academic Support/SASS (2875)"

For those looking for it, the first dropdown is "SCHOOLS AND UNITS", then "ATHLETICS", then "MBB Academic Support/SASS (2875)". You could probably just search for "2875", too.

I just made donation to this fund. Any idea how much is needed to fully fund summer school (I'm sure it will vary based on who needs summer classes, but maybe a ballpark number)? If we go over that what happens to the excess money? I saw there is also an option for funding Men's Basketball coaching salaries.

Fully funded summer school scholarships would total $65k to $70k per year, depending on in-state/out of state tuition. Fully funded means that every student is getting six hours of classes. The money we are raising will be used to supplement the current basketball budget to get up to the $65-70k. Any surplus will be in the fund to draw on year after year.
