Hopefully the Cajuns can sweep or at least split the doubleheader against No.20 (14) Baylor Tuesday on the Road

RE: 3/28 softball rpi rankings
Nice to see us move up to #4 in the rankings. The games against Baylor this evening should be beneficial to the RPI as well as the upcoming series against TxSt. The 5 games on the slate this week will be against opponents with a combined record of 121-45, which is a WP of 0.7289. That will be a very good contribution to our OWP, which is 50% of the RPI formula.

With 5 road games OOC in the next 2 weeks [2 at Baylor, 3 at # 1 Florida] 1-4 will be an acceptable result for the Cajuns; 2-3 will be good. Anything better than that will be spectacular.

I'm expecting good things against Baylor today. We are 7-1 against them over the past two seasons. Our last victory was a mercy rule victory in the Regional at Lamson last year. We swept them in Waco in 2014. I'd like to see at least a split today, and I would rather NOT get swept at Florida. It would feel like a repeat of the Oregon series last year. I'd be disappointed in those results, which would be 1-4.

Cajuns split at Baylor. 0-2 in the first game, 4-3 in the nightcap.

Georgia, Southeastern Conference. One of two relevant schools [with Georgia Tech] in Georgia.

Better?

USA plays McNeese tonight and that will be a good game for us to play.

Cajuns -- didn't they play you guys tough earlier this season? I know they've been a good team the past several years. I hope we can take this one tonight.

Yup. Took extra innings to beat them 5-4.

Looking objectively, they are probably a better team than USA this year. They have played a decent schedule. They're 23-6. 5 of those 6 losses were 3 runs or less and 3 of the 6 losses are 1 run losses to us and Baylor. All of the losses were either away or neutral site.

McNeese best USA on a solo homer in extra innings; 2-1 was the final. :-/

They're a scrappy group. I was surprised to see how much of a fight they gave us when they played in Lamson a few weeks back.

I'm interested to see what happens when they play @ LSU in a few weeks. Besides our game vs. them in a few weeks, that's really the only other game left on their schedule against a top 25 type of team.

Maybe the three against #1 Florida in a couple of weeks? :D

Talking about the McNuts, Amos. They have a single midweek game vs. LSU in April.
