RE: The "Tigue's" Silent Sunday- From the Bird's Nest
I'm not a big family guy on Easter, I won't even see mine this weekend, but I felt it needed to be changed. It was more about the principle of the matter. The Sun Belt's previous policy on Easter was that while we played,, the top drawing teams could not be forced to host and deal with the awful crowds every year, so without fail the AState's and Little Rock's and the other of the SBC schools that were not big baseball draws were forced to play at home that year, while the large schools never had to. If I remember correctly, this is the 10th straight Easter weekend that we've hosted a baseball series.

In a town like Jonesboro where skipping church to attend a Wednesday Night football game is considered by many to be a sin to the highest degree, it was always frustrating that we didn't get Easter off. I am glad we do this year..

Our beat writer mentioned yesterday that not playing on Sunday might become known as the "Ty Harrington Rule." He didn't elaborate.

Not sure if he had anything to do with it or was just very gung ho in getting it done but I do know the SLC did it this way. Not sure how long they did so because I didn't start following until 2009.

Well then your beat writer needs to get a little more informed on his history. Harrington may have been an ally in the fight, but Robe has been fighting for this thing long before Harrington or TxSt was in this conference.

Just saying.
