NU Hockey East Champs!
NU defeats Umass-Lowell 3-2 to win the 2016 Hockey East Championship and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Its just our 2nd championship and first since 1988!
The conference title capped a tremendous turnaround for NU, who started its season 1-11-2 and league play 0-7-2 before turning it on down the stretch. NU has won its school-record 13th straight game and is 20-1-2 in its last 23 contests.
NU also became the lowest seed ever to win the conference crown.
The NCAA Hockey tournament parings will be announced today at noon on ESPNU.
