What they did to KC Keller was even worse.

That is one screwed up place!

Noticed in one story the UD has a 1.3 billion endowment.

So you think Ross didn't deserve to get fired? He was about as bad as Benny Moss, and had zero redeeming qualities. The guy was a jerk, plain and simple.

I have no idea if he deserved to be fired. That was not the point. Reading several articles shows UD to be in chaos (from the AD to President & the Board)

I agree with the latter point. But "no idea"? They just went 2-16, and Ross' overall record at Delaware is something like 50 games under .500. Had to at least have a clue that this might happen based on that basic information.

I don't follow UD sports :>) Or any other CAA teams.

How would you treat this guy?

A couple wins different here and there, and throw in one good year not listed, and I'd be advising him never to shave his moustache.

Actually there were several good years followed by several of those bad years.

Many programs would have sent him packing. Very, very glad we did not

I'm confused- usually Shaver's bad seasons are ignored for (insert applicable reason). I've never seen anyone ignore his good years.

So, if you're asking how we would view Ross's record after 10 years with an NCAA tournament birth and a significantly higher winning percentage than our current coach, the answer is that we'd probably love him and build him a statue.

ETA: I think a lot of it comes down to personalities, as well. Shaver has a great personality and is a stand-up gentleman. As I understand it, Ross was a bit difficult.

Are the two jobs equally desirable? Are we comparing apples and oranges or apples to apples?

People want to build the current coach a statue already. They should probably spend the money on sending him to a defensive coaching clinic put on by Tony Bennett.

I really don't think anyone is yet putting Tony on a pedestal...he certainly gets his share of criticism on these
pages from time to time.

But I believe many know that he has brought stability, a winning attitude, some consistency of winning, at times a very exciting brand of basketball to watch and, above all, has certainly upgraded the level of talent flowing through here.

It's not often a W&M fan can look forward to perhaps a fourth consecutive 20-win season. Bravo to Tony and his staff for that.

When you best player is transferring out and is not a senior, then that says a lot about the coach. Holden was not happy with Ross and made it clear to many.........

Sure, or it could be that Holden knows he can play for a power 5 program and doesn't want to spend the next couple of seasons in Newark as the new staff attempts to resuscitate the program.

Delaware's athletic program appears to have gone into complete disarray. From one of the CAA's strongest programs it has bottomed as one of the worst. They win nothing these days in the conference.
