As for the game, I hope Nova wins. I dont care for them one bit or have any reason to cheer for them, but between them and UNC, give me Nova. UNC wins enough, I am all for seeing other teams win especially ones who dont win titles with any regularity.

Great game last night and very fitting for a title game. Congrats to Villanova.

Incredible game that could go down as one of the greatest game ever played, as I think I heard it's the first championship game to end on a true buzzer beater.

One thing that's a really big deal that doesn't seem to get mentioned about Villanova, is that they are basically the only non 1-A football school that's able to win a national championship in basketball. UConn was 1 year away from 1-A football when they won it in 1999, but before that, the last non 1-A football school to win it was Villanova in 1985.

I hate college football, as I don't like how schools tend to sell themselves out for the worst over their football obsession (George State/ODU). Villanova has had many opportunities to go "big time" in football, and I think made the right decision not to go that route.

This is true only because there really have never been any huge upsets to win the entire tournament. If underdogs were winning the championship, ever, there would be others who have 1aa football and would win the D1 basketball championship. So yes until a mid major breaks through and wins, Nova can say they are the only one, but that is just because every year a major school wins (in fact very few schools win, its generally just the "blue bloods" year after year"
