If GS had been able to get a first round bye, I could have brought myself to tout them as a dark horse.

I'm not concerned that much about the last week of the season since they competed well with two teams seeded above them. But I think four games is our longest winning streak of the season. It would be asking a ton of them to replicate it now.

The bracket is also as bad as it can get for GS. Only three teams swept the season series from the Eagles, and GS would have to beat all three on consecutive nights just to reach the title game.

The only way I could conceive advocating GS as tourney winners is if you're looking at it from a betting standpoint. While clearly a middle-of-the-road team in the Belt, I'd wager that GS would win the tournament several times if it were played 100 times. If the betting odds reflect that <2% projection, a savvy bettor might want to take a risky flier on the Eagles' long range shooting getting hot for a few days.
