RE: March Madness
Chattanooga becomes the 1st 1 seed to win their tournament. Monmouth and valpo both lost tonight which should help us in our seeding according to many projection sites
Man it's fun to talk about seeding again

Cbs has us as a 12 seed. The highest I have seen the caa champion. Would love to get up to the 11 slot

Agreed. 11-seed is the "sweet spot" for a mid-major trying to make a Cinderella run. 12 would be fine too.

Be careful what you wish for. Some of the 11/12 seeds have been in the First Four (play-in) early games. Would be a shame if they had that happen.

The bracket is unpredictable, but it seems to me that the recent approach is to put major conference bubble teams in the 11-seed play-in game (State, Xavier, Iowa, Tennessee, Ole Miss, BYU, and Dayton). There was one exception two years ago, Boise St, and in '13 Middle Tenn played St. Mary's played as 11-seeds, while Boise and Lasalle played as 13 seeds. VCU also played in the play-in game as an 11 seed.
I'd be thrilled with an 11 seed, even if it means we go to Dayton.

RE: March Madness
I think those play-in games for the 11, 12, or 13 seeds are for at large teams. UNCW will not be placed in one of those games.
Root for Penn against Princeton tonight. Princeton has a good RPI and a loss to Penn would drop them. They are not a threat for an at large bid because they have few good wins. Currently, there are 3 teams with better RPIs than UNCW that cannot go to the tournament: SMU, Louisville, and Princeton. Arguably UNCW's RPI of 45, according to Realtime RPI's Daily RPI, would point to an 11 seed for the Seahawks since those 3 teams are out.

RE: March Madness
I don't mind the play in too much if it potentially brings in more money. But I would be concerned about how they did Clemson a few years back. They won their play in game and had to travel across country to play the next day. The results were not good.

Agree 100% and looking at the 14's, 13's and 12's in Lunardi's bracket, they have a better RPI than all, yet he's got them at 14

Haven't you learned by now that Lunardi's projections don't mean jack until on selection sunday? He never does a good job seeding teams he just usually has the right teams in the tournament (which most pundits do). If you look right before it is officially announced you will see big changes on his whole bracket. It is because of leaks etc that he will move teams around to get closer, otherwise he would be even worse off on his seeding than he already is. Jerry Palm tends to be the best to look at for seeding, he tends to be closer on the seeding (not necessarily matchups and locations)

I haven't learned by now because it's been so long since we have had to worry! Palm has us as a 12 seed in Spokane playing AZ.

RE: March Madness
The "other Seahawks" might be punching a ticket of their own. The Wagner Seahawks lead Fairleigh Dickinson 15-8 in the 1st half of the NEC final, hosted by Wagner.
Funny hearing the "Let's go Seahawks" chant and seeing "Seahawks" on another floor.

Correction: Former UNCW player and then assistant, Billy Donlon. Still remember him and Stan Simmons being a pretty dynamic backcourt duo back in the mid to late 90s.
