Former weekend starter from last year's Super Regional team, Evan Guillory, will likely get the start for the Cajuns against the LaTurds.

App will be starting another freshman on Tuesday, who also doubles as a shortstop, played one game this weekend. Our Sunday starter doubled as DH, and stayed in the game after being pulled from the mound.

hopefully we can rebound after that terrible series against uga and pull out the win against GT. Should be able to.

Best of luck to all in the early parts of this season. SBC teams need to rack up wins OOC.

Not sure who TXST will throw against Rice on Wednesday after finishing up a 4-game weekend series today (Monday).

Rice is also coming off a 4-games-in-5-days stretch after losing 2-3 to Arizona this weekend and facing a good Dallas Baptist team tomorrow (Tuesday).

Coastal has a challenging game on Tuesday, playing at UNCW at 4pm. The Seahawks are 3-0 and have scored plenty of runs in their first three games. 15-2 over Western Carolina, 16-1 over St. John's, and 12-9 over Richmond. They won the CAA last year and appear to have a veteran roster. Coastal, UNCW, and CofC are a solid group of mid-major schools in a fairly tight region.

We need to start including Coastal in the listed SBC games. They are not a league team, but we extended the same courtesy to App State and Georgia Southern. 2 years ago.

I use D1baseball because it is the quickest way for me to get the list of scheduled league games for the week. I'm simply not going to take the time to go to all the other sites to look up rankings. It's complicated and time consuming and not worth the effort. Besides, early season baseball polls are notoriously inconsistent, with 10-12 sports difference in rankings between the different polls, and you noted above.

This weekend will be a huge test for us, IMHO. Certainly early enough to recover if we stumble a bit in the beginning of the season, but expectations are for not many stumbles. ;-)

Not complaining, I was interested in the choice of poll. I thought it was funny when I looked at our upcoming opponents they almost always seem to choose the highest ranking poll.
