Savannah is a much better party town than Atlanta and there are plenty of sights to see for the non-alcohol crowds. There would be St. Patty's Day preliminary stuff going on as well.

I think many would find Savannah too far east and too hard to get to from the west.

Memphis hosted the AAC's first conft tourn in 2014. Last year was in Hartford, and this year is Orlando.

Memphis would be a nice middle ground.

Love that the tournament is going back to an everyone in, traditional format.

Traditional for who? (whom?) As long as I've followed TXST (SLC/WAC/SBC) they took top 8. (at least that's what I recall).

I just see having an all inclusive format as a way to generate more money (more games to play); nothing more. Kind of makes the whole season totally pointless if everyone is included.

TXST - you suck eggs in MBB but come on along anyway. Come get your asses kicked ....one..more...time. Only, this time, it's in front of the whole conference. Yeah!

You should know better than anyone after tonight that anything is possible. Hell, even ASU beat us this year.

I wish it went back to Hot Springs. The town wants it back and it's a lovely town. the arena is not the best but there were way more fans in Hot springs than in New Orleans.

College Park Center was conceived among, other things, to host conference tournaments in the sports it hosts. Can't imagine going to downtown Fort Worth with no true arena, UNT, TCU or SMU and the American Airlines Center is too cavernous.

Smu's moody coliseum rocks.

Honestly just move it back to hot springs or a town like that.

Having it in a metro is no better travel wise. Lr airport is about an hour away. Dfw is about 45 minutes from smu. All would have the same issues.

Small with flavor.

Did you make it to the Gonzaga game? That was my first home game and it was awesome.

I had a ticket but sold it in the after market.

My kids had basketball games in hot springs and just could not make back out to Dallas.

I have seen memphis and Tulsa play them this year. The place is electric. Pro ball plays in the stands watching and former president bush on the front row.

It's a old old arena that has been up dated but still feel old and has a lot of charm. There is a lite rail station within walking distance and 2 major airports on the line.

It really is an option if smu would do it.

I would vote NO to having it at another school's arena from a higher pecking order conference (SMU, Memphis). I also think it would be best if it stayed away from member cities (Mobile...maybe). I like the idea of a smaller town like Hot Springs, AR just wish it was more geographically neutral. We need the locals to embrace it and help make it special. Columbus, GA has been mentioned before. Biloxi, MS is a good option. Somewhere on the west Florida panhandle would be nice.

why would any conference want to have their tournament at a school from another conference. we recruit against them so why put out the image that they are for real and we are the second class citizens. I can just see people's expression when I tell them smu is letting us use their arena.

Not really a sexy option but if weare talking about neutral towns then Florence, SC has a 10,000 seat arena.

Ideal city:

- big enough to have nice hotels and restaurants, small enough city for the locals to care about it.
- drivable (3-5 hours) from a minimum of 3 SBC programs
- have something to do for fans when their teams lose

Atlanta's proposal is bad. They don't have any site that would confirm except the GSU sports arena and no one is going to that dump (sorry guys, that's as bad a facility as this league has.)

We'll go back to Hot Springs after my sex change operation.

Mobile's a nice city. But if South can barely draw 2000, no one from there is going to the tournament. I'm also not sure the Mitchell Center has the proper space for everything that would be going on. Remember, you have to have media work space, interview areas, hospitality and the like. Because it's so spread out, you could find enough hotel space for the 24 teams and its fans, but not all that hotel space is that close to the arena.

Little Rock would be okay. Downtown area is great for fans. Stephens center doesn't have many amenities, however.

THe College Park Center would be perfect. it's the palace of facilities, every team can get to DFW with no issues. Plenty of hotels. Facility has everything you need to put on a 24 team tournament. THe DFW area has hosted conference tournaments before.

Fans in the east will complain but face it, no one in the league really supports their teams, so what difference does it make?

Is the LR proposal for the Stephens Center? That would be a bad idea. Verizon Arena is perfect for it.

I think having a rotation would be great.

East / West or even East / West / Middle.

East: Savannah or Charleston
Middle: Biloxi, New Orleans, other?
West: DFW, San Antoio, Houston, other?

I'm perfectly happy making a trip to New Orleans every year.

I'm not a Troy fan because of wins and losses.
