RE: Middle Tennessee
Layups, free throws, and three pointers—that's efficient offense (especially when we shoot .600+).
You could tell the team felt more comfortable driving the lane as the game went on, and even though Nick didn't have any layups last night, he's shown more confidence attacking on offense recently.
As far as estimated possessions go, this was one of slowest games all year, which made our performance on offense seem all the better since we converted on offense so frequently.
With a couple of good shooting performances from Dirk and Nick, we could have two guys nearing the 50/40/90 club.

RE: Middle Tennessee
There was an estimated average of 61 possessions per team yesterday. The only game with less possessions was the Jacksonville State, where the average was 60.
We will see the complete opposite Thursday night, as Marshall plays at the 2nd highest tempo in the country. On offense they hold the ball for an average of only 13.9 seconds.

It was a fun & good trip their fans were great & showed up but don't think they were as loud as we were but might've been there were few ops for them to really cheer being down most of the game. Just to have something to b**** about, how about the refs??? They were a bit iffy but to both sides, called some ticky tack stuff. I worried about this game going in but we pretty much just stuck someone in Pott's face the whole game so not much of a factor & only got his points on the couple of times we didn't cover him. The team did have it's usual 2nd half let down but didn't last as long as it normally does due to Dirk & Robert show.
Marshall up next & can't ask for a better b'day present than a win Thurs. I may see about taking off instead of giving my ticket away but I'm torn as if I go we win in some fashion but if I give it away we have a blow out win - choices choices???
Yeah, the charge on Dirk was whistled before Dirk made contact. Dirk almost cleared the MTSU defender . LOL. I bet he had a bad dream or two about Dirk's sweaty shorts being on his face.

Nick Norton is shooting 44.6% from the field. No way he will get to 50%.
I did say "nearing." I don't expect either to make it, but they could get close with a strong finish to the season, which is still impressive.

RE: Middle Tennessee
Another positive, the week off did not adversely affect the team like it had on previous occasions.
