Interesting TV ratings for the first game nationally televised at Trask Coliseum in several seasons.

The JMU-UNCW game Saturday afternoon drew 63,000 viewers on NBCSN. The Hofstra-Delaware game that followed UNCW drew 40,000.

It came within 3,000 of outdrawing Texas Tech-Baylor on ESPNU later that night, and also outdrew Penn State-Nebraska and Colorado State-UNLV.

Being a basketball only school and having a pretty good season, people tend to forget UNCW has a pretty interested fan base plus some casual viewers who follow basketball and may be curious about this coach and team.

Not sure why the TV folks can't figure out that attendance figures likely represent a pretty good fan base, and that UNCW leads the CAA in attendance. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

It was on at a good time too, there wasn't much else on. I actually an early bite to eat and caught the last 2/3 of the game. It was on at the bar and was one of the only decent games on there.
