Discount it all you want but having extra days to prep for it is beneficial.

We don't run triple option anymore. Or at least very little the past two seasons. Mostly double option or designed reads. One thing I've never liked about Willie. Hopefully we get back to more triple option this season

Exactly eagleskins. Heck, we don't really know what our offense is going to look like next season.

Aren't you replacing your QB this season?

If so, that's a pretty SOLID reason to drop you guys down. That's a pretty important part of the offense there.

That's the thing though, our projection shows the difference between what our fan base saw, and what national pundits saw.

Most of our fans see Freddi Knighten as the reason we LOST games last year, and games were won because of the players around him bailing him out. Many of these projection sites see Knighten as the reason we WON games last year.

We're replacing every skill player on offense, and while most of our fans truly believe this team will be better than last years, no one is going to believe that based off of high hopes for a bunch of kids with very little D1 experience.

I will however point out that we've won the league 4 times in 5 years, despite never once being picked to win the league in any of those years, so this isn't some unusual position for us.

So in in this case, are you expecting a possible slow start and for the offense to be clicking by the time conference games roll around?

We expect to be rolling pretty much from the get go. QB will be new, but should be just fine after spring and fall competition. There has been a talent upgrade, no a decline.

I'm a big time homer but I don't understand how we always ranked ahead of App in these sort of rankings... I mean, I'll take it everyday of the week but I'm not sure that's right.

I expect us to be rolling by league play, but I don't necessarilly think we'll start slow either.

GS fans are still not exactly sure what our offense going forward will look like. I fully expect us to throw more-- I m thinking 12-18 times a game instead of 4-8 times.

Yes on paper it looks like we did a good job in recruiting but the jury is still out on the new coaches actually coaching.

Our chances for a conference championship clearly hinge on App game at home and game in Jonesboro. I expect both to be close tough games

Story is that we're going to start preparing for Georgia Southern during fall practice.

One simply cannot prepare for the triple option in a single week.

Because, honestly, that's as soon as ANYONE will have a clue what we look like, our tendencies, our tricks, our strengths/weakness, etc.

Also, I'd imagine we are going to be very vanilla until we have to open it up.

09/03 - Savannah State
09/24 - at Western Michigan
10/15 - at Georgia Tech
11/05 - at Ole Miss

GS is going to be playing at least one early conference game and it will be ULL, ULM, and USA looking at the schedules. Sprinkling in two away P5 games in the heart of conference play isn't advised either. GS will play one of the hardest slates once you consider the timing of these games. I prefer the way App schedules, try and get all OOC games played up front and two G5 home and homes each year.

Pretty sure based on my best guess, that we will open the road conference slate @USA on September 10th and follow that up with a home game vs. ULM on the 17th.

I don't care for jumping into conference play that early, but we knew once the WMU dates were announced it was inevitable, after Ole Miss and GT joggled their schedules around.

Sep 3rd SSU
Sep 10th @USA
Sep 17th ULM
Sep 24th @WMU
Oct 1st BYE
Oct 4th @ stAte
Oct 15th @ GT
Oct 22nd BYE
Oct 27th App
Nov 5th @OleMiss
Nov 12th Troy
Nov 19th ULL
Nov 26th @NMSU
Dec 3rd @ GaState

The above is just a guess, based on some of the scuttlebutt I've heard. The bold are nailed down dates and opponents. The backend four conference games could be all different of course. I'd prefer to not have home games on back-to-back weekends personally, but that may have to happen unless we get a home game on Thanksgiving weekend for a third consecutive year.

It's not an ideal schedule for sure, but I like having a bye week to prepare for stAte, a long week to prepare for GT followed by a bye before App. October would be a fun month.

The Sunbelt is finally becoming stable, and each team will be improved from last year. ULM with there new head coach, with Troy having there coach be in there second year. TXST. With there new head coach. GSU has finally got it together, With GS having the best recruiting class, Ark St. destined to have a break out year, App St. will be improved. It just seems like we finally got these teams headed in the right direction.

That would be about the best schedule you guys could have given the OOC dates. If that's the schedule GS fans need to kiss the ground the SBC leaders walk on. They miss Ark St. and ULL the first two years of conference play and then get bye weeks before the two most critical games on their schedule in year three. I'd take that and run.

I'm guessing if this is coming from 22 he's heard which games will be mid-week games. Maybe App will have the same bye week, two weeks of fun on here ;-).

No complete insider slant on this guess, yet 03-lmfao, though I am pretty sure I have a few of them correct.

Just trying to speculate with the dates and previous discussion and rumors of us having a midweek game in Jonesboro and one at home vs. App.

There are only so many options with our OOC schedule, especially after it got flipped around for GaTech.

I was reminded on my board and on here that the dome is occupied on Dec 3rd for another game, so yes it is likely we don't play Georgia State on the 3rd. Maybe we flip the Troy and Georgia State games on my mock schedule.

Unless they get a new stadium built in lightning speed, it will be in the dome on the 3rd. Maybe GaSt/GaSo will be the halftime entertainment.
