Nope. And not one 'official' word from the school, either. This is all very timely, too, as this state cannot afford to be throwing good money away on under-performing schools.

UTA is an R1 (also, TTech, Rice, UH, UT, A&M, UTD)

There are (as listed above) also more R1s in TX that aren't necessarily Tier 1's as stated by the AAU. 7 R1's but only 3 AAU in that lot. (UT, A&M, Rice - which isn't spotted on the map) UH is not an AAU Tier 1 like they want to claim all the time.

If LaTech was an R2 then these were never their peers, per Carnegie or the AAU, to begin with.

(TX R2s - UTSA, SMU, Baylor, TCU, TXST just made that grade)

Monroe is a much larger city that has an airport (which Ruston does not). It's a prettier campus with room to grow. LA Tech merging into ULM would give them about 20,000 students. And, shut down Grambling with only about 5,000 students and merge them into ULM as well, increasing enrollment to about 25,000. Tech and Grambling are only 5 miles apart and ULM is only about 30 miles away. No need for 3 universities to exist in a sparsely populated North Louisiana.

If you only knew how often we have had to hear 'tier one,' 'tier one,' 'tier one,' through the years perhaps you'd understand better.

This state cannot afford to continue funding schools, like ltu-r, that have declining academics. That is what is truly sad, and has worn out the La taxpayers very much indeed.

And keep in mind: not one ltu-r person has responded to any of this.....either to deny it or to contradict it any fashion. The same goes with similar threads on RP, etc.
